I am LOVING my Logrite Junior Arch!!! I bought it from Sheldon Hill Forestry Supply, great people and free shipping! The Arch will save my back from stress and strain because it is so easy to use!
Have you used it on bumpy and thick underbrush areas? Where I'm at in Alaska, we've got these large moss and grass mounds, along with underbrush. I've been on the fence for 8+ years about getting one. I normally shoulder carry 3-4' logs out, but really don't need want to end my firefighting career with back injury. Had a close call today, slipping on some ice and having to readjust the load... Anymore, I prefer cutting in the winter and hauling rounds in my large Jet Sled with staypoles and snowshoes.
Hello Pete! You are definitely hard core! I have to tell you on my property I had lots of small brush and no trails and the Logrite Jr worked flawlessly. The tall, narrow tires are perfect for that terrain. You are so right about saving your back, knees or ankles for better things! I thought I would use a small tractor on my property but it wasn’t practical, too densely wooded. So after much contemplation (they aren’t cheap) one night at 3am I said “Why not!” And ordered it... I am so happy I did... GREAT piece of equipment. So many uses... hope that helps!!! Thanks! 😃👍
Building a log cabin. Been debating this unit and the ATV arch for hauling 26+ foot fairly large logs with an ATV. Estimating 700-800+ pounds per log. I want to keep the logs as clean as possible and try to not destroy the property as I select cut trees here and there. Should do it no problem from what I have seen.
Hi Al! I watched a lot of youtube videos before making up my mind and buying the Logrite, let's face it there were imports out there for less money and I never saw one in person! Well Al, I was so happy when the Logrite arrived at my door, everything about this unit is QUALITY! No short-cuts! I am sure you will be really happy with a Logrite purchase. As land owners we watch these videos where guys have these awesome tractors and think of how great that would be but in all honesty a logrite is all you need! I've seen guys using two logrites to get out really long logs by using one in the front and one in the back! You won't regret spending the few extra dollars on the Logrite! Hope that helps! Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I feel the same way. I'd rather spend a bit of extra money and buy once. Pretty sure I'll do the ATV + Junior arches and use them as you've described. I'll need to haul some logs up to a mile or so and don't want to be dragging anything through the dirt and gravel. The other thing to consider is time efficiency. The property's quite a long drive away, so the time I do have up there I have to consume wisely. And if the tools work well, hard work can actually be enjoyable! You're working to get something done as opposed to working at fighting your mediocre equipment. Been there, done that. Not fun! Thanks again!
40 years ago , we used a larger one then that fitted with a beam clamp , and a cart on the other end . To move heavy Beams & other materials around the job site ...Man , I'm Old ...LOL
Hi Ben! You are so right!!! This Logrite Jr. has saved my back from so much wear and tear!!! It is so well made and a complete joy to use!!!!!! I love it!!!! Thanks very much!!!!!
Hmm.. that log was 200lbs. I know some guys from Brooklyn who may have a use for one of these. I checked your link for their web address. Hey you wouldn't have any idea how much downward force you'd need to apply to raise your....um...log above the rear bumper on a '96 Lincoln Towncar would you? 😎
Hi John! This tool is great for getting the logs off the ground but it won't lift the log more then a few inches off the ground. I am going to feature a portable gantry I made very soon! I think you will like that! Thanks!!!!!
I'm sure it's an excellent tool and well worth the $540 it costs but I'm glad that I really don't have a use for something like this. The price almost caused me to fall out.
Hello Enjoying-the-Ride! You are absolutely right... It isn't for the average homeowner for sure! However this tool has saved me countless backaches and allowed me as one person in many cases to do the job of two. When I first saw the price I too was flabbergasted but upon receiving the unit I was so impressed with the the quality and performance that the price was no longer an issue. This has only happened a few times in my life, where I spent a lot of money and was glad I did! I know it sounds strange but it is one of my favorite purchases! Thanks so much!!! 😃👍
Jusb1066 - A lot of guys make there own versions! One thing I can attest to is that if you don't get the geometry just right it doesn't work well, Logrite has tweaked there design for years before getting it just right. I didn't want to spend this summer making my own because everything I make turns out HEAVY! 😃👍
