Daft Punk and Gesaffelstein helped produced this album. It was favorite Kanye album as soon as it dropped and I still get so much joy from rap fans being mad at Ye rapping over the dopest techno shit while he's rapping about intentionally making people mad 🤣
so many things in this album i wish i heard again.. on sight beat switch, new slaves outro, hold my liquor guitar solo, blood on the leaves beat drop, im in it (after the intro), guilt trip ending with cudi
I love how when you hear the first beat it sounds like trash and we’re all like wtf am I listening to bro then you hear the whole album and come back to the first song and it makes way more sense lol
A habit i picked up after listening to a wide range of music is to just bop your head to it, even if you don't like the song. Bopping your head to the beat of the music (even if it doesn't sound "pleasant") will make you feel some certain way about the song. For example, On Sight sounds like ass, you've determined that without bopping your head to it; a slight head bop gets you into the flow, which could lead to getting fully in the groove. maybe you'll pick up on things you like instead of bitching about the song.
After working so much on MDTF and Watch the Throne, anyone would want to try something different. It's just that Kanye goes to extremes, but that's what makes the music interesting 😂
Bro you should try to not talk while listening to the song, give your thoughts at the end, maybe try to give some little comments meanwhile listening but its so annoying that you pause the song every 3 seconds
First time I heard on sight I hated it but now it's in my top 10 kanye songs. I had to listen to the album a few times till I enjoyed all the weird synths and screaming. The story in Yeezus is about a guy who potrays Kanye's worst traits.
I hate to be the “back in my day” guy but knowing the blood on the leaves sample from that shitty tik tok song rather than arguably the greatest song/poem ever written by abel meeropol is flat out depressing
First off. I don't really like "on sight". It sucks. To me its a trolled song 😂. Besides that the album does completely grow on you. I love your reaction man. Thanks for being honest. Its ok if u dont love it later on. Its not on my top kanye albums.
You have to admit that everyone's first time listening to On Sight is a complicated one. It really needs to marinate with you in order to understand the appeal
In order to understand this album you must understand Kanye outside of music- and then when you understand Kanye outside of music all of his other music sounds completely different and it becomes insane how good he really is
This album is lost on some, people don't really recognize the climate this album was dropped into. 2000-2010 had some of the most trash commercial music of all time released and the ignorant culture around rap was at an all time high. This album really cut through all that bulshit and caught everyone off guard and the YEEZUS tour was a worldwide spectacle
i remember watching this video on your old account for the first time and not being a fan of the album like yourself but now yeezus is one of my fav albums it was so revolutionary and futuristic
If you really like Yeezus, Bound 2 one of your least favorite songs on the album. But if you don’t like Yeezus, bound 2 is your favorite sound in the album,
If you really really like Yeezus, you appreciate Bound 2 because Ye can move onto a new chapter of his life. It don't fit in and that's the point, Yeezy season is over, it's wifey time.
33:30 I'm not sure if you're familiar with Nina Simone, but the sample is craaazy and the original song that came out in 1965 has a WAAAY deeper meaning - It’s a dark and profound song about the lynching of African Americans in the Southern United States during the Jim Crow Era. In the lyrics, black victims are portrayed as “strange fruit,” as they hang from trees, rotting in the sun, blowing in the wind, and becoming food for crows upon being burned.-
On sight is the best intro he could have ever made to this album🫡the full painting makes on sight shine as the introduction the frame to the world you gotta step into
