I just finished airbrushed Loki’s helmet. I masked the hair and face with liquid latex. Helps to protect the base coat and makes it easier to paint over it.
Thanks man. Hope to tighten them up and make them a bit better each time. Made a few mistakes in this edit but you win some you lose some. Thanks for always watching and commenting!!
I was watching skin tone vid, taking notes and laying down some phat tones. Gotta catch this one for my next model. Heard there was good tips in here for brushing skin. Very relevant!!
After watching you paint this model, I've realized that there are a couple parts that I missed when painting mine. Oh well. You've done yet another fantastic job.
Dang! Just so much to learn... funny enough 😄 2 days ago I was just looking at those on Wicked, and now I'll have to get them and maybe later the dio base.
Great work it looks Amazing!! I really like your style and techniques!! I'm binge watching your videos and taking lots of notes. I haven't built models in years and I was always intimidated when it came to painting faces, I just stuck with objects/ vehicles. But now I'm looking into starting up again and after watching your vids, I want to give it a go.
Looks stunning! Have you seen/used Archer Scale Eyeball Decals? They make a bunch of different styles from cartoon to 'realistic' and haven't really seen too many people review them - not sure if they're more faff than they're worth tho.
I have seen decals for eyes. But in reality that part of the eye takes me like 10-15 mins. So probably a similar time to the decal. Decal would be a lot more realistic though but I try to have a comic style in the way I paint. I’m not painting hyper realistic and I think if you were then the decals are a good tool for that. If you paint average then I I think the decals could draw your eye to the fact they are so perfect but the edge highlight is all wonky. If that makes sense? Eyes aren’t too difficult it just takes some knowledge and practice to get them consistent
just got this model from wicked, could you tell what blue/gray paint u use to spray over the black to get those highlights, is it something you mixed up yourself, our from a paticular brand thanks for the great videos you produce.
@@Groundeffected What Clear coat did you use and did it "dull" the finish? I haven't found a clear coat yet that will work without dulling the shine of the chrome. I've found the Molotow will dull over time as well with not clear coat on it.
Not thinning was needed but if you do you can use alcohol. Also try to get a clear coat on it asap because the more you touch it the more the gold tarnishes in a way. It’s hard to describe but it goes darker and loses its sheen
Im going your route with the base. The clock elements seem like an absolute nightmare to assemble. Is the base a custom design, (the piece you glued the rocks on) I cant find it in my files. (also wicked patreon)
I made it myself dude. Just a round disk and placed the logo in it and printed then arranged some rocks and made it sandy. Kinda mixed between scratch build and printed
