I actually loved that hot cocoa scene. It was such a needed and well timed break from the very constant and heavy tension that the episode was providing. That scene, in my humble opinion, brought that episode from great to perfect.

What if Timely being turned to Spaghetti results to him being scattered to the timelines, creating the multiple variants of Kang (like HWR, Rama Tut, Kang the Conquerer). Meaning that although Timely was from a branched timeline, he is the OG Kang variant?

I think Loki has been the best Marvel viewing experience since WandaVision and I’m very happy as a huge MCU fan, that they were able to drive a lot more hype back into the MCU this way

I think this is the best episode of any MCU show, it felt like a finale, like I genuinely forgot it wasn't the finale as the explosion played out, and it weirdly shocked me seeing this video being "episode 4".

Victor Timely: I'M A SUPERHEROOOOO-

It seems obvious to me. When Victor was spaghettified and became an infinite number of pieces, these pieces were absorbed into the infinite number of timelines going into the temporal loom. This inserted Victor’s essence (with his memories) across the multiverse and across time. This is why there are Kang’s from all over history, and this is why He Who Remains wanted Victor to be given the TVA guide-book - to set off this chain of events.

what’s crazy is truly how smart kang is. He knows how every single aspect of his life is going to play out and how he’s gonna end up exactly back to where he is. Even from the smallest things such as telling Silvie he’s going to see her soon in which victor meets her not long after

That cube moment actually shocked me. Didn't expect something like that from the MCU

Easily the best episode of season 2 so far! Wow. Brutal at times (For the MCU osln Disney+ at least) and honestly just really entertaining throughout. Tense even a bit, with a great cliffhanger. Really dug this one! Poor Loki, he tries.

Victor Timely is He Who Remains. I found something interesting and wanted others to let me know their thoughts. He Who Remains mentions he is from the 31st century in episode 6 of season 1. I found out that 1868 and 1893 are the years 3034 and 3059 in the Discordian calendar (the 31st century). According to Wikipedia, “Discordinsim is a religion devoted to Eris, the Greek goddess of strife and discord…” “The three core principles: the Aneristic and Eristic principles representing-order and disorder, and the notion that both are mere illusions.”

The scene where OB and Victor found out they inspired each other was hilarious and my fav so far, also the way they connecting the dots is just incredible . All in all the Loki show is on the course to become one of the greatest shows of all time, if only they don’t fuck it up towards the end as Marvel tends to do with their shows aside from one or two shows out of many.. Also can we take a minute to appreciate Jonathan Majors acting skills!! Having to act three similar yet very different characters so good is no small feat, despite the controversy surrounding his personal life, his acting skills so far has been superb and I’m confident that he will deeply mark his name in MCU like many iconic actors.

Victor got sucked into time, and just like Kang in the comics, now he's everywhen... This is the best writing I've seen from marvel in ages!

This episode was an absolute banger. I figured it would be as it was the fourth episode. That being said, I think we need to take a moment appreciate Jonathan Majors' acting. In the event that Victor Timely, Kang the Conqueror in Quantumainia, and HWR from the end of the first season are the same person then we are getting a tour de force of ability. He is giving us distinct, yet similar versions of the early years of the character when he is excitable, the middle years where he is battle weary but will still end you in a heartbeat if it means achieving his goals, and the final years where he has literally seen and done it all and he can only wait for Loki and Sylvie to show up. And in his final years you see some of the mannerisms and speech patterns of Timely, minus the stutter. And you also see in him the warrior that truly believed a multiversal war and the eventual TVA were the absolute best way to keep the rest of the timeline safe. All the while he has developed an eccentricity of someone that has been alone for a very long time and needed to find some way to entertain themselves. I have found it all enthralling and I can't wait to see what he does with other variants in the later movies.

Unbelievable how phenomenal this episode was, it had everythang ! OB Meeting Victor, jokes, plotting by Renslayer and Ms Minutes, uncovering secrets while leaving with more speculations, love it ! 🤩

Loki carrying the whole MCU on its back. Creatively, storywise, writing, acting, far better than anything else at least on this phase. And we just witnessed Kang's origin.

The writer was on fire during that scene where Loki talks about whats easy and whats hard. But how Tom delivered it... The man truly is a god.

I'm loving this season and the talent of the writers and how they developed the plot really shone in the conversation between Loki and Sylvie in the pie room. The conflict between those two variants is represented by their different upbringing: Loki, who was part of a ruling class of Gods, understood the importance of the TVA's responsibility in helping to manage the timelines and "bring order to chaos." Sylvie, having that royal history stolen from her and growing up as a renegade, want to burn it all down and let each timeline live in their own terms. This is a beautiful representation of both sides of Loki, his anarchist and authoritarian selves and ideas in conflict struggling for a resolution. Love how the story has this tonality without being too preachy politically.

I don't know if you're right or not, but it seems most agree that episode 4 was pretty fantastic across the board...creatively, narratively, shock-factor wise and more! I need the next episode to drop sooner!

I will say this again and again…THE SHOWRUNNERS OF THIS SHOW NEED TO BE THE MAIN WRITERS FOR THE REST OF THE KANG SAGA! And yes, I had to yell that. Haha but seriously though, this should be the vibe of this rest of the phases until we get Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Truly one of the most incredible Marvel moments ever. I hope they can use this series to tie together some of the stuff we’ve seen in Phase 4 and 5. 🙌🙌

I love the fact that Victor Timely looks like Kang when he's in the space suit. The mask is blue... coincidence? I tend to think not.

At the 25:45 mark of this video, Ryan points out the “seeds for what makes Kang Kang”. “The desire for power, the desire to rule, the desire to prove himself.” The whole first season, they talked about “what makes a Loki a Loki”. It seem like the have the exact same elements at their core. Ryan, you could do a video on how Loki and Kang are the same. Not that Loki is a variant of Kang, but at their core, they have matching “temporal auras” (which must have something to do with the soul because the gatekeeper that captures and image of your AURA asked specifically about their soul”). Maybe that’s why he selected Loki to run the TVA. He knows what it takes to run the TVA. He pick someone who uses the illusion of force, to inspire fear. He who remains knows that in order to rule, your subjects can’t have free will, so he picked a guy who monologues about how FREEDOM is life’s great lie and he alone can save their lives from freedom. My theory is that He who Remains… and all Kings think they have to take away free will. Loki has gone on this character journey where he has learned how to value life… you could say he’s learning how to be a benevolent god. I think Kang put him on the journey with Silvie to rule the TVA that no other Kang possibly can. I think at the end of the multiverse phase, Kang will be defeated, and Loki will play a pivotal role in resetting the timeline in a way where there is Freewill, Kang is not in control of anyone’s destiny anymore. He will probably even sacrifice himself in battle to ensure this happens. It’s ok. He’ll go to Valhalla

The OB episode! The best MCU series for all time! I’m loving this show

The Victor Timely death felt so off beat and shocking. Its as if Marvel are telling us the introductions to this phase are over and its time for consequences. Edit: Also the coffee scene is odd because he is looking the direction Brad is coming, and does that snap to distract the TVA guy, almost to mask the rod powerup noise. Maybe he wanted to be caught to tell Revona something "they would like to hear"

I absolutely love Doug. From his rant ab the mailman to his questioning of your mental health, and my favorite "maybe its just a hexagon", Doug is the absolute best. High five!

This was an absolutely fantastic episode and my favorite so far! I didn't expect the Spaghettification to happen, that caught me by surprise!

Awesome breakdown as always. A good thing to remember is that the Loki we’re watching isn’t the same one that went through the character growth seen in Dark World and Ragnarok. He’s only witnessed the Prime Loki’s experience (and death) through the TVA recordings. This one is still fresh from his loss in the first Avengers movie so he definitely still has lingering notions for his “Glorious Purpose” and is going through a separate character arc now

The expression that lit up Loki's face when Sylvie stated they were playing God, it was like he was remembering/realizing his glorious purpose

I was a little confused why Miss Minuets would bother helping Ravonna in the first place since Kang/Victor spurned her advances, preferring Ravonna instead. But perhaps it's a mutual feeling of scorned contempt for Kang/Victor from both Ravonna and Miss Minuets that drives them to work together.

When Ms Minutes blinks back on and says "You are never going to be him" it was super similar to the scene in the first Resident Evil movie where the Red Queen say "You are all going to die down here" just before they rebooted her.. I know I can't be the only one who noticed that

Tom Hiddleston said in an interview that all Loki really wanted was to be part of Thor's warriors but Thor was the typical older brother and he was left out. Now in Loki not only is he part of a team he's the hero and enjoying it.

Great episode of Loki and ScreenCrush. I can't imagein a scenario where "He Who Remains''" #1 deputy isn't on good terms with Alioth. I see her going right back to He Who Remains was and starting over.

Victor going all spaghetti in this episode like Reed Richards going all spaghetti in Multiverse of Madness is another interesting descendant take, given the history of Kamg in the comics.

When Timely was interested in hot cocoa during this time chaos it reminded me of MIB 3. When Boris the Animal traveled back in time and killed K and altered J present, he suddenly had the urge to drink chocolate milk, then agent O sad that the obssesion with chocolate milk indicates that you might be involved in a temporal fracture.

I don't think WHR and Victor Timely are the same people. 1st of all Miss Minute says you're not HWR and second, Victor Timely came from a branched timeline specifically. On the other hand, HWR told us that he was living in the 31st century before he'd met his variants.

I believe that the next episode will begin with Loki being back in Thor or Avengers 1 as all of the call backs to past events in other movies seems to be foreshadowing more than just Lokis change in character.

After watching this episode, I'm still formulating my theory, but one evident thing in this episode that also connects to Quantumania is size and objects not "being to scale". The mini recording Miss Minutes showed to the diorama OB constructed of the temporal loom were all miniaturized. I believe that if Victor had been "to scale," he wouldn't have suffered spaghettification. Case and point, in Quantumania, Scott didn't start to separate until he tried to enlarge while he was in the radiation of the probability storm. With Kang's knowledge working in loop, he had to figure this out and put things in place so he'd come in contact with Antman or a hero who could manipulate size in relation to particles/sub atomic particles (still a working hypothesis)... Also, he totally threw that fight against the Ant-Family so he could become one with his "life's work" and obtain power. No way he wanted to escape like he told them (he's a con-man, don't forget).

I think the next episode will be a castaway type episode where they were all returned to their original timelines as they are no longer outside time. Timely may have been playing them too, remember when she asked where the device was he said she was going to like his answer. I think he suggested using his orb either because it would then be powered up by the Radiation giving him his immortality or he was instead spread throughout time (aka Clara's ending in Doctor Who where she spreads herself into each of the Doctors time streams) so now multiple versions of Timely/Kang will emerge in different time periods.

The ending was super ominous imo, the music cutting and the screen going to black gave me chills lmfao

A cool detail i noticed also in the scene where victor and ob meet is the difference in their tva manuals. Victors is darker abd worn, showing how much hes flipped through and handled it... while obs is still bright orange and looking freshly printed. I dont know if it means anything special but it is a nice little continuity detail.

I think the beauty of Owen Wilson's performance all along has been that detachedness from his own humanity way of interacting with the other characters and how his constant refusal to find out about his past life isn't so much him avoiding the pain of regret for a life unlived but more that he can only do his job if he can think of other lives as merely blips on some grandiose spreadsheet he has to scroll through for his 9-5. I think his performance is showcasing well what someone might lose of their humanity in order to cope with the responsibility of effectively entry-level clerical janitors of entire existences

As Always very cool easter egg and breakdown video! I missed only one (in my opinion) important detail at the end, when theorizing about how Kang will end up at the end of time with Ravonna ( her being pruned) that Loki also Pruned himself! - no less his younger self without all the knowledge of episode 2-4 knowledge, which is going to be very interesting to see in my opinion. Also worth mentioning that Loki, is still in a status of constant time slipping! Wonder how that is going to pan out. Great video as always, keep up the good work!

This episode was a total mind fuck, and I loved it. So many things happened and it totally had me on the edge of my seat. Regarding Dox and the cube, she deserved it, but it took me completely by surprise and seeing Ravonna get pruned was really satisfying though, it would've been more satisfying if Sylvie actually did it instead of Brad being enchanted by her. With Victor being captivated by hot chocolate, I thought that was funny how someone who invents all these grandiose things can be enthralled by something as simple as a warm drink. And about Victor's fate walking into the loom, I don't know what happened. I don't know if he's dead, or if he's going to meet the Kang from Quantomania. This episode just went in so many different directions. MARVEL IS BACK!

2:37, There’s also the possibility that this palace has been repeatedly damaged and rebuilt over the course of various iterations of multiverse being destroyed and replaced with new iterations, as this space where the palace lies is outside any timeline. And with every new iteration of the multiverse escaping containment and regenerating, another version of He Who Remains comes into being, presumably armed by the previous version with special knowledge (or more specifically access to Alioth if we’re to assume there has only been one previous iteration of He Who Remains and the Multiversal War since Alioth is assumed to have only been created once and has no other version of it) that would allow him to win the war and take his place. 10:56, Due to the concept of variants, branching timelines, and timelines being destroyed and replaced with replicas of themselves, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a specific version of Nathaniel has to meet this specific version of O.B., as the multiverse and every variant that isn’t part of the TVA or resides in the Void or the Citadel died when the previous multiverse was destroyed by Alioth amd replaced with the current iteration when the Sacred Timeline breached containment. From O.B’s perspective as someone who lives at the TVA and is therefore outside of normal time, this version of Victor only recently came into existence around the time Sylvie killed He Who Remains the Temporal Loom began overloading. 21:42, Similar to how they combine retrofuturistic sci-fi music and 80’s synth with dramatic orchestral themes (with heavy emphasis on violins that are meant to symbolize Loki’s Norse inspiration), they appear to be pulling from Victor Timely’s era for music involving him. Having musical themes that break out of shows sci-fi format also somewhat links this version of Loki who has reformed himself and has overcome his flaws with this less malevolent version of Victor Timely who genuinely wanted to be a better person than his variants are before he was killed. 23:46, An important distinction that is subtly made by this plot point is that only in dimensions outside of time that have their own rules of how time works like the TVA (and presumably places like the Void, the Citadel, Quantum Realm or the Dark Dimension can interacting with that dimension’s past warp reality rather than create a branch. With the creation and destruction of branches, no future is able to interact with it’s own past to directly affect or create itself. Loki having to prune himself is the only real time loop in the show in a sense, as Loki interacting with his past while in the TVA does affect his current self and allows him to exist, while the TVA and Multiversal War loop result in the erasure and replacement of both by newer versions (just like this Victor Timely isn’t the one that knew and worked with O.B. originally) and are carefully planned around by He Who Remains, who had eons to make the necessary arrangements to ensure he successor but also had no way of directly effecting the outcome if one of the pieces of his plan were taken off the board, especially now that he’s dead. 25:47, Her telling him that he will never be He Who Remains (while a possible reference to Loki’s last line to Thanos before his death, dismissing the idea that he would ever be a “god”) may also just be foreshadowing his impending death, meaning that another Kang variant will soon arise and attempt to take the position of He Who Remains himself. The idea of variants specifically implies that there are any number of possible candidates out there that have a shot at replacing He Who Remains without actually having to be a specific version of him, especially if Victor’s death means that He Who Remains’ plans are being disrupted by Loki and Ravonna’s actions as well as this Victor truly being less greedy and malevolent than his counterparts and him seeing these murals only makes him more disturbed at what “terrible, awful things” these other versions of him have done and have sacrificed simply for power (along with the added horror that He Who Remains isn’t even the worst version of him as there are many who are now out there and more on the way the longer the Loom remains unfixed). 26:27, She’s shown in trailers to be near Alioth in the Void, but it remains to be seen if Alioth disintegrates her or not. 27:12, This specific version of Victor is likely going to stay dead (even if his counterpart on the Sacred Timeline and now the fully regenerated multiverse still exists), but that only means he isn’t going to replace He Who Remains, but now that the multiverse has breached containment, Victor specifically doesn’t need to be the one who replaces He Who Remains, but can never truly become him since him being a variant inherently means he is a separate being from any other version of him that interacts with the multiverse (which may be another reason behind Miss Minutes’ last words claiming Victor will never be He Who Remains). 29:47, Being a separate being to his other variants, she would always only be meeting a variant of him, which can also tie back in with the distinction of Ravager Gamora not really being the “real” Gamora that Peter and the Guardians knew and loved, which she repeatedly iterates throughout Guardians 3. This demonstrates how despite the possibility of time travel and multiversal counterparts, these variants are all separate beings that once dead, can’t ever truly be replaced by other variants due to them all being inherently separate beings with the ability to have unique experiences (and therefore, different personalities) from each other. This is also what makes this version of Loki matter, as he is not the same character as his film counterpart in more than a few ways and is the only version of himself who has experienced what he has experienced, which would make his death something that couldn’t be truly undone by the introduction of another variant of him, as that variant again would be a separate being with their own experiences. 29:52, He Who Remains claimed he discovered Alioth in the cracks of dimensional rifts, not that Alioth was fully formed, waiting for him in the Void to tame it. Alioth’s creation could also be a way to measure just how many multiversal cycles there have been. If we assume it was only made once and there isn’t another version of it out there in existence or that if there were other Alioths made in each cycle that it destroys the previous one, then there has only ever been one other multiversal cycle. But furthermore, if not all versions of the cycle are exactly the same in terms of exact details and events, Ravonna may not really be instrumental in winning the Multiversal War, especially since any version of him or Kang that would manage to gain access to it would automatically have the means to end the war. For now, Alioth appears to be the primary key to how this war could potentially end and what these new Kangs of this new version of the multiverse would be fighting over to ensure they’re victory over the others.

I have suspicions about that coffee scene.. it to me at least played out as if Victor timely was following instructions. Like he was waiting to hear the word coffee machine ... I don't know to explain it... I have a theory that the TVA handbook secretly describes what's supposed to happen and Victor timely it's going with the plan, like he knew he was the one who was supposed to go out to the loom and he was supposed to stall Ravona ... I dunno.. I'm still working it out in my head lol ...MAYBE the next episode will have everyone wake up on their own timeline or something... we'll see Mobius riding a jetski ....I missed feeling this excited about the MCU... I think the last time I was just excited was an episode of Wanda vision when Wanda's brother showed up at the door....

I'm still very much considering the possibility that Victor Timely's "demise" was part of a massive plan by Victor. He's been shown to be a conman, and I find it strange how he volunteered himself for this incredibly dangerous mission. He seemed to be making up excuses for why he should be the one to go. Something seems fishy. If not Victor's plan, I think it was definitely planned out by He Who Remains.
