Yeah, I always forget that Thor and Loki are from Norse mythology. Marvel basically turned a religion into a Comic, Movie, and TV show.

@Dom Forrest they're salty that assassin's creed is making games in ancient times now where the assassins arent the primary focus, and individual members of it is. i mean AC Origins was legit about the origin of it but yknow whatever. i personally think the new games are infinitely better than the old ones, with longer campaigns, bigger and better worlds, better stories and characters, and more content.

@@lexark No one is saying they are bad games, the problem just is, it's not assassin games anymore, I've been playing assassin 1, 2, brotherhood, revelations, 3, 4, rouge and unity, I love a lot of these games to death, but the new "assassin" games just isn't the same anymore. In what world do you need to literally level up skills to even be able to do stealth kills that one-shots enemies? Or where most of the gameplay isn't even focused on u being an assassin, and more so on being a normal rpg character that can just go in and kill everyone without any kinda stealth-depth. Assassin's creed shines in it's cities, crowdsystems, where u could constantly blend in, lurk around in the roof tops, hide, lure guards, pick their bodies up and create distractions & diversions, while also constantly backstabbing enemies out of nowhere and so on without having to specialize in anything to have that kind of stealth. Then we had the full on the brotherhood thing, were you always were part of a real assassin brotherhood, that all while different, followed the same creed, used the same tools like the hidden blade, and so on. Also it was also with it having a set story, you followed an assassin, you weren't the assassin, but you followed his specific set storyline, now it's becoming more and more like just another RPG game where u "create ur own" character, where u change the story because of ur choices and whatever which in itself breaks previous lore about how the games worked. I'm not saying this is bad, I love RPGs personally even and the majority aren't even who dislikes the newer games also aren't calling the games themselves bad. It's just, they are good games on it's own, but they aren't truly assassin games anymore, they've lost their unique feel that the old assassin games had. That's why most are "salty" that the games are using the AC name when they are much more their own different kinda games at this point.

@@Reijvi well assassin's creed tackled pretty much every even somewhat-modern time period and a lot of different viable locations for AC games. after so many entries, it was time to change things up. there's only so many times you can release basically the same game with the same gameplay in a different location. i get why it might seem like "just another RPG game" but the new ones very much so set themselves apart. while the settings of the older AC games were great, there was nothing particularly special about the gameplay. combat was lackluster, movement was generic and clunky. if youre having trouble 1-shot assassinating people in origins and odyssey, then youre trying to do that to people who are too overleveled. you can insta-assassinate anyone close to your level except for elite enemies in odyssey which are meant to be minibosses basically, so you tackle them last. also yeah you can affect the stories with your actions in odyssey but you cant with origins, and both do follow specific characters that you dont get to change. bayek, alexios, and kassandra are all characters that exist as they are, and while they go through character development, their main story beats are predetermined and cannot be affected by you in any significant way. its important to remember that the new games still take place in ancient times before the assassins were as organized as they became, so yeah you dont play as someone who has been training as an assassin for their entire lives in a controlled environment, but thats the point. the new games go in a new direction, and while you may dislike it, it was what was best for the franchise. the old games were getting stale.

@@lexark The game playing in ancient times has nothing to do with it being bad. It would be great if they sticked with the great plot. I liked Origins for the story, it still felt like it has something to do with the creed, since it introduces the "origins" of it. But there was barely any story development in the "present" time, sadly. Other than that the gameplay was horrible for Origins, too much nonsense grinding with side quests that had nothing to do with the creed or anything meaningful, it felt like a long boring chore. Odyssey in the other hand had much better gameplay, side quests weren't boring and most of them had connection to the main story. But the main plot was weak there, again nothing in the "present" time, and even in the past it felt like it has nothing to do with the creed. I have not played valhalla yet, so can't say anything about it. But the game has clearly shifted away from what it used to be, it has different writers and directors producing it, so... it's just very different.

@@Aztaable im still playing odyssey though it feels like it's going somewhere, and yeah it has a great story so far even if it isnt strongly connected. great gameplay in both, and origins had a great story too. haven't played valhalla yet but ive heard great things. i never liked the present day stuff and i feel like its always been the weakest element of AC. while itd be nice if it was developed further since theyre content on sticking with it, im not upset that its as slow as it is, because i really dont enjoy it.
