Mahayogi Brahmachari, The Great spiritual leader who had full divine power, Sri Loknath Ghoshal was born in Chaurasi Chakla on Birthday of lord Gopal (Janmashtami ) in 1730 in a Bengali Brahmin family.
In the religious world the name of Sri Sri Loknath Brahmachari Baba carries the highest status among those saints who have sacrificed their body and mind through great perseverance for the salvation of life. He studied Dharma and learned that practicing Karma Yoga according to the rules of Dharma practice leads to liberation in life.His Guru was Sri Bhagwan Ganguly. Baba Loknath underwent intense training in various schools of yoga in several locations throughout the Indian subcontinent. He adopted a lifestyle of extreme asceticism and fasted for long periods. He attained enlightenment in the Himalayas in 1820 at the age of 90. His Guru was still alive and was 150 years old at that time. After his enlightenment, he was said to have traveled all over South Asia and Southeast Asia on foot. Transcending the narrow boundaries of faith and religion, he belongs to Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. Visited many holy sites. Included were three trips to Mecca and visits to modern Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, Palestine and other parts of West Asia and the Middle East. Loknath marked his "past birth" to his Gurudev. Loknath was born in Sitanath named Bandyopadhyay family in Burdwan district on the banks of Damodar river.
