The first Endless Ocean on the wii was one of my favorite games as a kid so seeing they're making a 3rd one broke my brain lol. I did not in any way expect a revival of that series

When I was a kid I wanted to be a marine biologist, and my parents got me the Wii Endless Ocean game. It was a little complicated for me to grasp at the time, but I have fond memories of it 💙 maybe I’ll check out the switch version 🐬

Fantasy Life I is the sequel to Fantasy Life on the 3DS. In it, you have many lives (I think there's 14 in FLI). It's an RPG game with several combat classes as well as ones that help you craft items that can be used in combat, as a way to basically become self sustaining for everything you need to play the game. There is no farming though, so far as we know, since the 3DS and mobile titles didn't have that. It is a story based RPG though that will be charming and funny, given Level 5's track record.

The original had two of the best plot twists I've ever seen. The plot isn't even especially deep or complicated but they play with some preexisting suppositions they know you'll have

Separate comment to hide those twists: What looks like a stock "rebellious princess" story ends up being that she used to go on adventures with her family before they took the throne, and she's sneaking out to relive those glory days (and eventually her parents can join you!) And how the clearly evil guy who wants to kill the dragon is actually not evil and wants to SAVE the dragon, and you just legit misinterpreted him

I think that most people missed that Endless Ocean is a first party Nintendo game. And is actually the third game in the series. However, the best thing about the first game was the epic music soundtrack. You could even add to it by putting your own music files into the game.

I think the Switch has entered its twilight period. I doubt we're going to have any major Switch game announcements this year beyond maybe Metroid Prime 2 and 3 Remastered. I imagine Nintendo has already shifted their focus to the Switch 2 in 2025.
