I can hardly wait to get started on this pattern. I have two projects to finish before I dare start another. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!🌷❤️🇨🇦
Hello Kika CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding. Beautiful and lovely idea to make your dress. You looked like you had a lovely day best wishes Geraldine 😊 England
I started this project with Lion Brand's Color Theory, and boy is it beautiful! Because it's a (light) worsted weight yarn, I don't need to hold it double, or else that would mess with the gauge. So far, gauge is good and I am so excited to finish it. Thank you for this pattern!
Thank you so much! I am new to knitting and have not moved much beyond knit and purl stitches or anything that wasn't just square. Most beginner patterns look like, well, not great. I saw this and thought it was cute. I watched the video first before deciding to buy the pattern. The written instructions, along with this video, have helped me tremendously. I had so much trouble with the ribbing at first and had to rip it out and start over many times before I finally got it right. The increases were hard at first, but I finally got the hang of them. I am determined to make this, and all of my mistakes have only served to help me become a better knitter. So far, I have the front yoke and the top back done, but those pieces, so far, are really nice. I love the look of the broken rib stitch. While the project is beginner friendly, the resulting fabric doesn't look "beginner."
Just bought the pattern and started on it , for my youngest daughter. She’s about your size, and it looks lovely on you, so I know it will be perfect for my Amanda. Tack för trevlig tutorial! Kram
Hi Kika! I want to thank you for this tutorial. Today I finished my Lola Top and is beautiful 😍 Im so happy 😊Thank you again and Ill be watching your channel for my next challenge 👏👏
I am so excited to make this! I have wanted to since you first showed it off...it gives off vintage vibes and I love it. Thank you so much for making a video tutorial to go with the pattern. I'm still fairly new to knitting and they help me out so much!
I absolutely love this design. I can’t wait to start it. I might try to make it for my daughter. It is a very cool 😎 knitted summer top. I hope I can pull it off! I love your authenticity and positivity!! 😊
What a great tutorial! I love the texture on it, but I don't like knitting a ribpattern (I'm really slow at it). Now I know that there is a knit row as well, I might just give it a try 😊
Omg Kika, I've always struggled with bind off gaps and always thought I was doing something wrong but could never figure out how to fix it. Thanks so much for the tip!!!!
I am so excited to get to do this pattern with your guidance! I have to wait for the book to become more accessible in the U. S. before I can get it, but I am definitely going to get the book instead of an e-book :-)
Thank you for your tutorial. You motivated me to get started on a new project. I love stripes but I don't like having to weave the edge strands so you covered most of all the things that was haulting my desire to get started. l Do I want stripes or do I not want stripes delimia has been remedied. The tank top looks beautiful on you and looks comfortable as well.
I love this and purchased the pattern yesterday. I went to bed very late because I got so into it! Thank you for your beautifully written patterns and this video makes it easier for new knitters like me. I don’t know why I could not meet gauge with those size needles using 2 fingering weight yarn! I kept having to go up in needle size and then the fabric looked holey! So I ended up doubling a dk weight cotton yarn and using a US 7 needle I was able to meet gauge. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t get it, but it’s looking lovely!!! Again thank you!
Love the Lola top, it is so pretty. I love the tutorials with your creations as they inspire me to try something new in the knowledge that there is a tutorial to follow. All of your designs are fabulous!
Hi KiKa, I' ve bought the pattern because I really like the look of this top but I'm a bit nervous to start.... I can't knit very well but I like to knit this (😊) and hope I can do it with the video. Femke (from the Netherlands)
If the first row is tight, I recommend casting on the both (parallel) needles and taking one out to knit. It gives so much space but still not too much.
Hello, I just started to knitting this beautiful top, but I have a question. Could you please let me know for knitting the back should we increase stitches? It means does it exactly the same as front? Thank you
Hi I really ❤ your design they look cute and classic. I’ve a question for you, you mention the the front rib is about 1 1/2” high how about the width how long first you 35 stitches suppose to be? Thanks 😊
Hi Kika, love your channel! I’m knitting your Lola top as my first ever pattern 😅. I have a question: I blocked my gauge swatch and then it lost all its ribbing effect. What blocking method did you use on the top? And do you have tips on keeping the rib effect when washing the top? Thanks! Love from the Netherlands ❤
Hi! Great tutorial but just a small question - after 6th row should we start all over from the 1st row as you explained earlier all rows up to 6)? and also after increasing should we repeat from 1 to 6 row, after 6th row should we come back to the first one and again and again?
If I were to do the backwards cast on method for the shoulders, would I cast on to the needle being on the left hand like you were with the crochet hook? Or I would I not turn over the work and cast them on with the needle on the right hand?
I made this top, I only had one circular needle, so I just knit the front and kept it on the circular needle as I knit the back. (Don’t forget to cut the yarn between the front and the back if you do this, and don’t knit them together until you’re supposed to join them)
I can knit socks, but not a sweater! I prefer to make one with raglan sleeves and a V neck, because it make me look a bit thinner! Would you mind to explain that for us? Would be great, because with your help I dare to make one, I can t read a wrtiiten knitting pattern🥵. Thanks for your inspiting video s!❤
What do you do to prevent or fix the holes/gaps in the underarms, where you cast on stitches for armbands? I’ve tried casting on 2 sts to k2tog at corners of each side or sewing the holes/gaps afterwards, both of which don’t give great results….
I just bought the Lola Top pattern and am excited to knit it up for myself. We live in Florida and I am so happy to find summer patterns calling for cotton yarn! Thank you for the great tutorial; the explanations are very clear and so-o helpful. And Thank you also for generously sharing your knitting tips with us.
I was wondering the same thing re: Aran or DK! Decided to buy the pattern anyway and try it with some bamboo I have had lying around for the last year. Really excited for this! I love the design.
