Omg I actually love how the image is wide/Tall and fits the huge screens on modern smartphones. Very immersive and satisfying 😁☺️

sounds like tis a good bet to tape a bubble level to the camera to keep shots level

amazing location Mac. bought my SP and the Digitaliza about 6 months before lockdown and it opened up a whole new perspectives on photography, well at least for me tho. my photography friends have this negative attitude towards low-fi images but gotta tell you, i have found again the term "fun" in photography which have been absent in my photography journey all these years. great video and keep on shooting 📸 #fileminati

Thanks for your video on this. It is a fun way to make images, I have used it for 4-5 years, and although I shoot Hasselblad X2D in my daily workflow, I love the feel and look of the images from the Sprocket Rocket. By the way I have adapted a 220 back for my Mamiya RZ67 to shoot panoramic sprocket photography, and I also use 35mm film in a Fujica GL690 for extremely panoramic shots. I have one movie on panoramic photography on my channel, Key2adventure, and I’m preparing the second at the moment. Keep posting your nice videos, thanks.

About your comment on the film canister view window. You said Sprocket Rocket 1, Nikon 0. That window on the Sprocket Rocket is not well sealed and is a source of light leaks. It needs to be taped over. Nikon does not have this problem - Nikon 1, Sprocket Rocket 0. I shoot film, but with cameras that give me some control. The Sprocket Rocket has such a poor quality lens that I think I prefer shooting wides on GoPro and cropping to shape. Unfortunately there are plenty of 40+ year old film cameras with excellent lenses, but only SLR's give ultra-wide capabilities. I love my Nikon FA or FG with a Zeiss 15mm f2.8 lens. I might not see sprockets, but I do get the grain of film, and the level of contrast and edge to edge sharpness I prefer. Having said that, I wonder what sort of artistic effects I could get with a Sprocket Rocket loaded with 25 ISO film, then shifting to B and f16 and bulb shots. Could get some interesting abstracts that way. Of course, the interesting ones would be buried amongst an awful lot of really terrible ones. A very expensive way to get images :)

I dont think you quite understand what the sprocket rocket is. You're way too harsh with the criticisms towards it unless you're only going after the retail price of the camera in relation to it's capabilities. If the main problem is its cost for how little it can actually do, then i completely agree. But other than that, I think it's just a plastic camera meant for a bit of fun.

“Norf Caroliner” is full of great small towns and roadside attractions. Lived in Charlotte for 2 years but had family in Orange County..

I bought a Sprocket Rocket a few months ago, and the Digitaliza, shot one roll and never have scanned it. One of these days I'll set up one of my flatbeds, but my Pacific Image dedicated 35mm scanner has me spoiled- and it doesn't have a sprocket hole option. I will say having a flash on top can make seeing the counter and frame indicator tricky, and I missed frame spacing a number of times shooting indoors with flash.

It is a challenging camera at first, but worth mastering! Thanks for watching!

Hello, thank you for the video. I think the bad results with the essential are due that you are using a 120 mask, with the correct mask you don’t get all that white space at top and botton. They don’t have a 35mm xpan with sprockets. For 35mm there is just 3 mask: standard, standard with sprockets, xpan. Cheers.

Great video, looks like lots of fun! I have been craving an X-Pan for a very long time and this just might help for the mean time.

When you double expose is it advisable to try to under expose each one slightly to avoid overexposure overall or is film forgiving enough that it doesn’t matter too much?

I really wanted to like this camera but the back would keep popping open and spoiling the film, so gutted! Might give it another try soon

If you already own a 6x6 120 camera you can find online some 3D printed 135 film can adapters than gives you sprocket panorama images. You can show the process here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wkOhPgoNlp4.html
