I would love to see what London was like in 1570, it should have been an incredibly magnificent city, a shame that the medieval city was destroyed by fire. PS: I also love Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture, but I'm always curious to know what Medieval London was like.
Kael Maturro Extreme913 also, victorian? Do you mean architecture from VIC, Australia or architecture built in the time that Queen Victoria was british queen?
MCRFanWill - iPad Gaming The buildings built during the reign of Queen Victoria, such as Houses of Parliament, St Pancras Station, Natural History Museum, Royal Holloway and the Crystal Palace (a magnificent building that unfortunately is no longer among us).
@@octaviusroosevelt7355 but the bridge actually fell down much later I mean yes the very first bridge did fell down then, but today's bridge is the 3rd one
And you can easily miss the part we’re the lovely old stone bridge turns into a concrete monstrosity 😁 Hurry up and bring back the version with the buildings..
How much of the original bridge was destroyed during the Blitz? How long has the present bridge been at the location? And from where and when exactly was the US-bound bridge removed?
Brad Thompson I don’t believe was damaged in the war. It was found to be sinking very slowly on one side so long term plans were to replace it. The bridge there now was opened in the early 70’s 73 I think. It’s in the same place as the older bridge but interesting enough the bridge before both of them Old London Bridge was slightly further upstream. It was there for a really impressive 600 years.
I called Arizona home, but still haven;t seen the bridge which they moved to Lake Havasu. A quick search found It was built in the 1830s spanning the Thames. Dismantled in 1967 and relocated to Arizona. Blocks from the original bridge were numbered, transported to America, and then reassembled. Completed 3-4 years later in 1971, it links the island in the Colorado River with the main part of Lake Havasu City. Here's the article.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_(Lake_Havasu_City)
Ok I love all your videos I have watched on this channel. HOWEVER I live in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, USA and we have the London Bridge here since 1971. I was surprised that you didn’t start out this video with pics from here where the bridge located. Is there a newer bridge in London called “the London Bridge”?
This is an old version of my London bridge video if you search for London bridge the recent one shows both bridges (incl the former London bridge relocated to USA)
