Like the videos! One suggestion from me would be to include the area names more often. Some locations I recognise and know very well, some look familiar but can't figure out where they are and others I'm entirely clueless!
Good speed for the filtering, also nice to see you walking around the roadworks I know a lot of people who would have just ridden on the pavement. Some people saying it like no cyclists stop for red lights in London but it's clear from your video that is not the case
Raised kerbs along cycle tracks are a nightmare. One wrong move and you're off! Whoever thought they were a good idea?? Great vid by the way! I've only cycled in London once, between railway stations, so it is good to see the sights & check out the infrastructure of the capital. 😊
Came upon your video. I lived in Romford, worked close to Liverpool station and left for Canada in 1964 and now live in Toronto. With 1/5th the population of London I refuse to bike for recreation in the city. Too hectic and ugly. I will take the tube or a commuter train out of the city and do my 70 -80 km rides in the suburbs or country areas and return with a relaxing commuter ride home. Yes, I am 79 and do 12,000 km a year. Two months in sunny Florida in Jan & Feb.
I lived and commuted on a bicycle in London for 7 years, and I can assure with no doubt cyclists are by far the worst on London roads. I had a HDD full of helmet camera footage with the most stupid guys riding but never had the time or the stamina to do anything with it. You are one of the few exceptions, well done!
I live out in Herts so I cycle on mainly country lanes. Very different experience! It does seem a bit of a free for all with the cyclists breaking more rules than anyone, although not causing as much risk in the process. I personally would not be so keen on going down the inside and past parked cars around 5:00. Just waiting for someone to open a door in front of you 😬
Surrey has it's fair share of country roads (I have plenty of close passes uploaded!). The central London cycling presents a whole different challenge.
@@zeecycling I used to cycle in Central London. Now I try to avoid busy roads and not enjoying riding at all in London. After so many careless drivers run into me or presure to give a way. (since after covid it gotten worst) I still go ride from time to time but when I stick to the rules, it put me in more danger and plenty of cycle lanes are not suitable for the purpose. The biggest issue I have is cars try to pass you , blocking the way, coming to a stop as close as possible to the curb just to cut you off and the worst of all jumping red lights. Other time people on ebikes joining the road not looking if someone's already there or passing with a high speed leaving you with little time to react, e scooters do the same. To be honest I feel more safer breaking the rules than follow the road law. it keeps me on a distance between these big monsters called suv and other crazy road users who shouldn't be allowed on the roads.
@@y.a.p8951 Definitely agree with the last point. There is a busy cross roads with traffic lights near me and to turn right legally means sitting in the middle of the road waiting for the traffic in both directions to end when the lights change. Fine in a car but very dangerous on a bike. I usually cross to the pavement from the major road before I get there, nip round the corner and then rejoin the minor road. Quicker, far safer and puts no one at risk. Probably illegal as well.
It's clearly not the majority just watch the dozen or so cyclists stop at the red light in the first clip, just for that one without a helmet to go on the pavement and ignore it.
No worries. I'm a cyclist and I love seeing videos of actual annoying things happening. This is not that, it's just you hating on the most pathetic, average rubbish.@@zeecycling
@@jimbothesailor4217 The rider in this vid is showing a good example (although the one about overtaking cyclists I thought was ok). As cyclists we cannot ignore others running reds and riding on the pavement giving the rest of a bad image. We have a responsibility to call it out otherwise motorists would assume we are ok with it.
The start of the video is literally just cyclists overtaking in the cycle path. Hardly a crime... They were safe and cautious. Another was someone using the red light to access the contraflow of the road, also absolutely fine. This cyclist has highlighted some definite issues, but almost half of them are not a big deal. they're not dangerous and they aren't endangering anyone. Obviously running reds and riding on the pavement is bad, not really a large part of this video though.@@cornishalps9870
