I had to laugh when you slowed down at @ 2 minutes in for an older gentleman with a shopping trolley bag, he proceeded to cross the road taking the longest possible vaguely diagonal route ! 🇬🇧🏍
good decision! it's been my observation that most bikers only **think** they know how to ride and even the ones who ride every day are unlikely to have much skill
I really like the way you present your videos Freddie and the cool soundtracks that accompany them 😎. You will enjoy Suffolk and the surrounding areas. Great place to visit 😀 😊 🙌 👍.
I didn't realise it was only Westminster that charged. 11 quid for that food! I miss London badly but not those prices. Wait until the Harley Sportster 1250 S is available. That will be the one to have, but no good for taking a pillion. I like your old Triumph. Another thoroughly enjoyable video.
Hi Freddie, I really enjoy your RU-vid channel , I used to live in Grays, West Thurrock, Essex and used to ride to London using the A13 or A127, I got my HD Heritage from Foundry ,Canterbury Kent. I moved to locate in Malaysia few years back. I shipped my Heritage here and enjoy the riding here but sometime gets too hot to ride. Couple years back I managed to buy a T120 Bonneville which remind me of my old 1969 T120 (650cc) I used to have back in UK. Your video really bring back sweet memories, visiting London, Kent coast and small villages or hamlet around good old Essex. Spitalfields on a sunny afternoon reminds me of market stalls in Convent Garden . Thank you and looking forward to your next video
Well another good video Freddie, i have just watched the Sevenoaks video, brilliant my neck of the woods, keep up with the good work mate and have a safe ride with your next journey
Freddie, been enjoying your content recently. Just came across your channel when searching on the speedmaster. I just recently picked up a 2022 Speedmaster for my wife, but I've been riding it around until she can get her safety course completed and get her license. I have absolutely fallen in love with this bike. I know exactly what you mean when you say there is just something about it.
Great to see you venture to an old haunt. Changed a bit though. Used to visit Spitalfields when it was an open air fruit and veg market. Steed of the day was a Kwak KH250. Always parked in Gun Street... It was the 1970s!! Crackin vid. Cheers
Just loving your content, you both work so well together!! Was laughing when Monika pulled you up about the gloves!!🤣🤣 I shall keep an eye out for you both since you are up around my neck of the woods!! Some beautiful coastal villages along the Suffolk coastline.😉😉
@@FreddieDobbs 🤣🤣 There is some lovely places around Suffolk, very.flat but some nice roads villages a d coastal villages/towns!! Look forward to your video's 👍👍
On helmet locking, get a small lock and clasp them together via the double d through any looping bracket. I use the back rest, they are off the floor and cant be taken unless someone REALLY wants them.
Spitalfields looks really cool and scenic, inspired me to a video of the Waterford Walls once my bike is fixed. Class video again, that custom helmet looks class. ✊🏻🏍
Hey Freddie, I remember seeing helmet locks that fit onto the motorcycle and can fold in when not in use. Out here in India we have ones that stick way out the back. Should definitely get it on the the Bonnie.
Didn't realise how much I've been missing London. Will definitely be checking out Spitalfields on our next trip. Enjoy Suffolk both and keep the great content coming...
I knew you'd end up loving the Speedmaster - as I said before on another one of your videos, it's very you! I have to say, I'm rather tempted myself now too. Looking forward to the countryside / coast vlogs coming up. Ride safe :)
It seems the speedmaster is leading the way re your “dream bike” Freddie!...How does it compare with the Bonny T120 Black that you rode some time ago?...I thought that might have been still in poll position...especially as the bench seat is so pillion friendly!..great vid as always mate...ps Monika’s giggle is infectious!..always smiling...bless her cotton socks 👍💆🏼♀️
Always enjoy your vloging Freddie. Re - scratching your helmet smelly floor, you could always put your helmet into your helmet bag and if it needs it stick it in the washing machine once you get home.
V-twin engines are slim since both cylinder are in line with the frame, so as long as the tank and bars are not too wide, you get a slim bike made for lane splitting. My complements to Monika on the great video quality.
Thanks for another stylish vlog Freddie & Monika,it's interesting to see different parts of London with you both,go for it Freddie with getting a Speedmaster,if it excites you & you miss riding it,that defo means something !! Have a good break in Suffolk with your waterproofs haha, happy riding👍
Hi Freddie. I've been here since around 1200 subs. Your confidence and personality is so inspiring. Keep doing what you're doing, love the content! Also, go get the Speedmaster mate, you deserve it!
Freddie, try the Motone helmet lock. Keeps helmet secure, off the ground and is a nice aesthetic to the Bonnie. Also does not interfere with the panniers. Can be placed on either side or use two.
mike from las Vegas. rode Harley's all my life got my first one in the 60's, i really like the speed master. if l were to change it would be the speed master. beautiful bike. can't go wrong with it. save up!
Another good video! Luckily I showed my wife, we're from America. She lived right across the street at the building that said "Women" right across from the cafe you where at when she went to school in London in 2010. She said that cafe wasn't there when she lived there.
@@FreddieDobbs yeah she got her degree at LSE. She said that in front of that building tourist would stop there during their Jack the Ripper tours. She totally misses London!
Love my Sportster but worse bike ever for a pillion. I like the looks of the Ducati Scrambler Icon. Enjoy your holiday, look forward to the videos, and don't forget the waterproofs!
I didn't know the Sportsters are bad for pillions. I'm a huge Sportster fan (looks-wise, at least as I've never ridden one). I won't be making that mistake again- waterproofs always at the ready!😆
Great video! Very pleased with my choice of Speedmaster vs Scout. Definitely a gentlemen’s ride whereas I had an attitude on my HD! Been riding mine through the mountains last week and Cataluña yesterday. Doing what it does best ‘cruising’.
I knew you would like the Speedmaster it is such a cool bike. I test rode that then the rebel 1100. Was going to put my money on the Speedmaster was 99% certain but the DCT on the rebel swayed it for me. Give the DCT a try before you decide. Certainly make London riding effortless. Great video btw that curry looked amazing.
Ah hah! The Speedmaster claims another devotee! Mine arrives this week. The wait is torture. Dream bike, Indeed. If you can't find a cheap one, that means you get to justify having the improved new one, Freddie! Woohoo!
I totally understand/agree with your predicament I loved my T100 Black thought it was the one for me but 2 months ago when ahead and part exchanged/bought the new Bobber and haven’t looked back absolutely love it…..(other half won’t go on back so didn’t need the second seat). Loving your channel.
You know what after your piece on the Speed master the first thing I did was check the prices and your right they do not loose much money and I also thought about you saying the Speed master was not so popular well maybe you changed all that single handedly .great watch Freddie keep it up cheers : )
Another great day out Freddie! Would love to see a trip to the Bike Shed some time 🙂. Don’t consider a Speedmaster without a seat for Monika 😉, I see a pillion seat on eBay for £55 from Edinburgh Triumph 😊 RRP is £160
Hi , it,s years since I was at Spitalfields Market , in those days the streets smelt of meat and blood , the old carrier bags shop front is still there ,always amused me . So it has gone up in some ways , but the urine smell , I , m not sure of , masked by the meat I think , the shops are better and the walk round was great , of the way it has been redeveloped and the posh foodies . If you are really into the Triumph get one out of a shop for a test ride , if it has a pillion seat to see if Monika likes it . All ways fun to watch , spot on , and the enthusiasm of you both . Take care and ride safe .
@@FreddieDobbs Are you saying I am old ? it looked like that in 1974 and I to thought as you did , my grandfather could have seen it after W.W.1 as he talked about the market , being a policeman around there , the paint has lasted well .Enjoy your trip to Suffolk .
Love the video as usual, get well exited when you upload. Up there with Vida, 44T et el. Be good if you could dedicate a video to your different motorcycle outfits ie what jackets you pair with what boots… or do you not think about it ?
Wow you've really raised the bar and thrown down the gauntlet to the International VLOG community with your latest output Freddie. You have moved on from cakes to Curry........This shows your versatility as a presenter. I didn't notice a Greggs in Spitalfields market. Must be to posh in Londinium. maybe next time review the brand new Triumph T100 and a chicken bake😂 Gary from the Toon
YBR! My first bike from 2007, bought new. Has undergone a series of mods in the years, it still is my daily commuter, weekend too sometimes. I have also taught 3 people to ride on it so far. 74'000 km, or 45'000 miles, still running great.
I traded in my Bonneville T-100 for my dream bike, a 2022 red Speedmaster, in my garage. I moved the foot controls back to center. Start a Patreon or go fund me page for a brand new one, Monica deserves it. Think on it, its not selfish with all the time you put into this Great channel !
@@FreddieDobbs Freddie, I am 5’-9” 165 lbs. , changing to center controls like the Bobber control location, Feels more natural, more control for me. You are a bit taller, just think, bobber foot location but with those beach bars so you’re not pressing forward….could be the perfect setup even as tall as you are 🤔😎👍 take care !
Another great video, really captures the vibe of Spittlefields. I've never ridden a Speedmaster with anything other than the stock beach bars as fitted to mine. I may be completely wrong, as usual, but in my mind the beach bars are a major part of the relaxed, laid back feel of the bike. It takes a bit of shove to get the beast round a corner, and with the narrower bars from the bobber or the mini apes I feel the amount of extra input required from the rider would massively detract from the Gentleman's Bike feel. It's so uncouth to be clambering off the side of a bike just to get it round a corner. I'm on my 3rd set of hero blobs on the foot pegs in under 10000 miles, so she handles beautifully with the beach bars. I did ride a bobber ( basically the same bike) and we didn't get on. Looking back I think it was to do with the narrow bars and the corresponding effort. Plus, if you get the flat bars you'll end up with bar end mirrors thereby negating the width saving for filtering. Get yourself a Speedmaster, you won't regret it, I promise!!
Fred, I really feel you’re the pain with the bike choices. I’m in the same position and have put off any decision until winter. Love your enthusiasm for the whole biking thing as in not just bike choice but clothing being such an important part for me. How do you feel about Guzzi’s ?
@@FreddieDobbs , you will love Moto Guzzi gaurenteed ! Don't buy a Speedmaster (lovely choice though) until you get a ride on the new V7. I've just discovered them after thirty years of riding. They are charming, unique, heaps of character, brilliant mechanical sound, very comfy saddle for rider and pillion, competitive price and with an aftermarket exhaust top shelf exhaust note. Okay, I'll stop now.
Freddie have you checked out captain Rambunctious he has a speed master And am sure he has bobber bars in , works for him cheers all the best mark 👍🏻🍺🇬🇧
I haven't actually, but a Speedmaster owner's sent me over pics of his with apes, and it's unbelievably cool- this is my new dream bike (a Speedmaster with apes!)😍
Hey Freddie, I don't know if you've been asked this already but it would be cool to get a Q&A from you at some point! What got you into bikes, when did you start riding, why you started a youtube channel and so on. Ps. Speed master seems way more practical day to day imo :D
I rode the XC just before I started the YT channel- much much more of a beast than the Street Scram- physically bigger, higher seat height, although not heavier. Much more powerful and you do feel further from the ground and on a more focused off road weapon. I took it off roading, but with dual sport tyres, it has very poor levels of wet grip (not the bikes fault, just the nature of dual sports). It's an extremely impressive bike!:)
If you go to the Triumph site and use their configure tool, there are two sets of apes available - one in black, the other in chrome - and a fitting kit 👍 The black ones part number is A9630258 and they’re £165. Not bad. The fitting kit is £104.
I'm looking to start my lessons very soon, and I'm considering doing the CBT + DA course to A2... Im 6'6" and so I think a 125cc will A) look ridiculous! B) not provide much power Vs size. What're your thoughts, Freddie? Love the videos 🙌✌️
Hmmm, yep 6'6 means that you really do need to choose your bike slightly more carefully! IF you can hold out until you've passed your DAS course, then I'd do that and wait to buy a bigger bike as a 125cc bike may look too small. Having said that, the Mutt bikes actually have a significantly higher seat height than my Bonneville and they are "normal" sized bikes, despite the small capacity. I'd potentially consider a second hand Mutt (or similar), if you fancy a 125 to learn on (they'll be very easy to sell)🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I was looking at the Mutts and I agree with your review, they look remarkably similar to the Bonneville - and they seem like a great option for the money! I'm going to look into costs Vs practicality and see where that gets me. Cheers for the reply, Freddie - really looking forward to the Suffolk vlogs 👍
@@FreddieDobbs yes way! I also read this story earlier but hadn’t realised until exilbrex pointed out that it is exactly the same parking bay! I even re-watched both videos to confirm it, nerd that I am! 🇬🇧🏍
Speedmaster 2018 with 16,000 kms is $A18,000 in West Australia. Thats about £9000 They hold their value remarkably . My low mileage 1900 Yamaha i bought 7 months ago with 13000kms was half new price. So if you want in to the Speedmaster you have to sacrifice something....eating ... roof over your head....children.
Get the Royal Enfield 650 twin , upgrade the suspension, exhaust, brakes, lights and seat, get the s&s 863 upgrade and a decent power management system and get it gas flowed, you’ll have spent £2,000/3000 grand less than a speedmaster, you’ll have a much better frame, a better, lighter, personalised and prettier bike.
The only problem with this method is the seat removal to place hemet on and off. I did suggest in a earlier post the Motone helmet lock as an aftermarket product.
Wow check out the blue climate change skies. Looks like the market is in an Australian city. My Nan lived in Stoke Newington and I can recall the summers there, a blue haze over market stalls and crowds . Innthose days...1950s.... all pavements were thronging with people as shopping was not centralised and not everyone had two cars per family. Buy the 1200 Speedmaster. I know they are pricey as I want to trade my zx14r for one as im tired of cruising effortlessly at 100 mph in a world that no longer has room for that.
UK and Ireland need to legalise weed like Nederland....it adds a vibe to places like Spitalfields...cos weed is already inspiring the interior and architectural design of these relaxed places...why not allow it openly .
Love the video as usual, get well exited when you upload. Up there with Vida, 44T et el. Be good if you could dedicate a video to your different motorcycle outfits ie what jackets you pair with what boots… or do you not think about it ?
