A cabbie gets stuck in a public urinal. From series 9, episode 12 (1996) londons-burning... London's Burning is copyright Network DVD and London Weekend Television.
Oh brilliant clip. This is the one I was telling you about. If only we could find the location. With the stairs and lack of disabled access, it's bound to have been closed. Here's hoping.
I have found them and it is not good news im afraid. These are along Tower Bridge Road near the junction of Grange Road & Decima Street. In the episode there is a shop called Danny Mack and I typed toilets opposite Danny Mack and found a discussion about some toilets that existed opposite a betting shop. On Google Earth I can see most of the same buildings although the building being built in the episode is a new block of flats. There is a Barclays opposite them and a sign saying 'Café/restaurant opportunity. It is said that there was a lot of gay activity going on and the police had watch over them
there's actually loads of this type of toilets still open in London now. I went in two yesterday during a day out, one in St Christophers place and one in Bayswater Road. the bayswater road one looked a lot like this inside!
I used to love this series. I wonder if you can get it on DVD or something? Reminds me of my childhood... I still remember drying off from a bath in front of a coal fire in the back room with this playing in the front room.
The drain on the urinals should have a cage over it to stop people dropping things down it (and getting their hands stuck) maybe it's had vandals in there
@@benwisely5962 They had cages going back to the 70s mate, (I know, i'm old!) but like the original poster said, prolly either vandals, or it just got mislaid during cleaning)
