If you’re looking for something extra creative sold with a serious helping of community spirit, pop into the Backyard Market on Saturday or Sunday to discover even more stalls and unique sellers all touting their (often) handmade wares, complete with artistic flair.
On the West side of Brick Lane, Ely’s Yard plays host to a very fine array of street food sellers, while the Old Boiler House provides covered dining and long trestle tables surrounded by over thirty scrumptious sellers. Food blogger Giulia Mulé of the Mondomulia blog recommends Mother Clucker’s "crispy Southern style fried chicken. After brining and a buttermilk bath, the meat is tender and the crispy. You must have the hot sauce with it." and also urges Brick Lane visitors to seek out The Rib Man who is "the big daddy of London's street food scene. His slow cooked pork ribs are served in massive wraps. All his pork is outdoor bred too. To make it perfect, add a generous squeeze of his Holy **** sauce."
