The man in the pie & mash shop is called David And there's nothing he don't know about pie & mash he's been doing it all his life And he learned the trade form his grandfather and farther So I think he might know a little bit about it lol
I agree with you! Traditional food has kept people alive for generations. A lot of today's trendy foods are not really satisfying or even nutritious. I am an American raised on Southern food from my heritage. I eat the way my grandma ate when it comes to everyday cooking. It may not be "fashionable", but it keeps me healthy and strong. It also keeps me unconcerned about fat, cholesterol, and all that other stuff people spazz over today.
I saw a news clip once about an American lady who was 97 and still working as a waitress. She said her favorite treat from the restaurant was fried chicken skin! I can vouch for that. I love it! My grandma lived to be 100 and died peacefully in her sleep. She never ate big amounts of food, only medium to small amounts of her favorites. She was born and raised in the South, and ate real, traditional foods all her life. I happily follow her example.
I might have issues with jellied foods or gravies, neither of which I like as a matter of personal taste, but I love to see these foods being enjoyed by others. I don't understand some ofthe comments on this site that are so negative. No one is forcing anyone to eat these foods, so why put them down?
The jellied eels!!!! So revolting!! That being said, I'm so fascinated by this dish. It is very hard to describe. I am usually fascinated by the things that revolt me. Although it looks very unappetizing, I would try it at least once.
My mother used to take me with my brothers fishing for eels in Kent (many moons ago) They are so tasty. Recently I found that Tesco actually sold them. I didn't realise what I had been missing all these years. They are absolutely gorgeous to eat.
So this is why so many older Brits have such lovely skin and hair! This is why they survived World War II and the Blitz. Fresh seafood. I am an American who traveled to your GREAT country 10 years ago, and noticed how lovely and vital the older people were.This is the secret, along with fresh milk, butter, and cream. I read that people ate fish and chips as a once week treat, so not too much fried stuff in the diet. As for me, I 'll have my greasy sardines. No jellied eels in Pennsylvania.
the only food that should be aloud to sell on london streets are chestnuts and a bowl of muck and when u eat pie masb and liqure u turn tje pie up side down cut a hole and pour viniger in and the best pie and mash shop is manzs is tower bridge near station
EWW i wouldnt trust half that food, let alone order a pizza in italy, or rice and fish from china? best food ever is here in US/Canada, safest/cleanest anyway.
Why are we here? 5 years late but I’ll say it anyways. China is very well reknown for its quality fish dishes and vast fisheries. To say it’s dangerous and unsafe to order fish there is mad. Like China has many resteraunts much like Canada and the US if not better. It’s not a huge village like idiots think. All because they’ve never been there
the eels are served with so much jelly - I'd try it hot but I don't think I could handle a mouthful of cold, wiggly, eel jelly. but I bet it's very good for you.
They add artificial green colour, look at their bottle up on the shelf behind the owner of cooke’s. that’s not original make sure u eat where the liquor is made from parsley
