Established in 1900, E Pellicci - a charming, family-owned Italian restaurant in London’s East End - has seen off two World Wars, a global pandemic, and 125 years of flux in the city’s most chaotic neighborhood. We paid a visit to meet its current custodian Nevio Pellicci and the rest of his clan, who served us up some delicious Italian cuisine and an eyebrow-raising lesson in the art of staying alive when all around you eateries are going to the wall. From their famous full English breakfast to authentic cannelloni, there are plenty of reasons people have been going back to E Pellicci for generations.

@@I-do-not-read-repliesNot really Starbucks’ fault. Commercial leases nowadays are getting so pricey that new businesses are struggling to stay afloat. Eventually, once those small businesses close shop, and the big companies take over since they can actually afford the rent. Obviously it’s a generalized take, but it goes to show that there’s some nuance to this whole kerfuffle .

I love this place. Family and I went to London in February and had breakfast here one day. Amazing Full English, and the cannelloni that my son ordered was some of the best I've ever had.

any vid I've seen on this cafe shows the most joyful family ever doing what they love at break-neck speed all while making every patron feel like their best friend. Dozens of my ancestors grew up in Bethnal and I'm sure they've all loved visiting. Never change!

Went here when I was travelling around Europe/Uk from Australia. Felt like I was a part of the family. Besides the amazing breakfast. This place had everything you need. Truly is a gem in the English hospitality scene. BOSH INNIT !!!

Went here when I was last in London. Luckily was there early on as by the time I was leaving the queue was right down the road. Since I was there solo I was sat on a table with some regulars and the community atmosphere was a great as the food

E. Pellicci is a proper London cafe (pronounced like calf not caf-ay) and real institution. Friend of mine was there last year for the Veggie Have The Lot and a chat w/ Nevio, who is just as awesome as he is here!

Having grown up in Soho, Bar Bruno is still my favourite (2nd would be the long gone New Piccadilly). But Pellicci is the undisputed don of the East End. Love to see it still thriving.
