I love mine to dehydrate eggs! I got silicone trays for my Cosori. I scramble up my eggs and can comfortably fit 4 cups of eggs on each tray. Put them on 115 degrees so they don't actually cook and pop them in the blender when they're done. Mix 1 tbsp egg powder with 1 tbsp water to rehydrate. I use them for scrambled eggs, baking...everything! I fit about 18 large eggs in a pint mason jar. 😊

Hellooo from Canada! I've been watching your rebel canning videos and I adore your content. You are not only a great teacher but you are absolutely so beautiful, you have a classic beauty, grace, confidence and I can tell you are a natural leader and matriarch ❤ I wanted a dehydrator for years but couldn't justify the cost. After doing a lot of research and taking the plunge, I went with this London Sunshine 10 tray and I AM SO EXCITED to start prepping ready to eat meals for our off grid property! It arrived yesterday and I keep going down to the kitchen to squeal and Stare at it lol!! I was so happy to find that you did this review!! Thanks again, blessings from the great white north!

I still have the dehydrator my mom bought when we were kids in the early 80's. She gave it to me when I started my own household. Absolutely LOVE it! It is the fastest dehydrator I have ever used. Can do jerky in just a few hours and it is perfectly dehydrated. They sure made things to last back then! These days most appliances (even mowers) ar made to last until just after tje warranty goes out.

Lesson learned: the plastic trays will warp. Replaced them with silicone trays. They work great, best money spent. Welcome to the wonderful world of dehydration. Agree with others that Purposeful Panty is a great resource. Dried apples are our favorite 💕

So it has been seven days since I watched this video premiere and I have dehydrated 10 pounds of potatoes. I’ve made potato chips and I’m going to dehydrate some tomatoes and try to attempt sun-dried tomatoes and oil. Thank you for helping me gain a new skill and always God bless.

Go to The Purposeful Pantry, Darcy has been dehydrating for years and is a pro. The banana chips have alot of sugar, that is why they stick and take so long to dry but she has a video on doing them. I hope this helps you.

A little bit of corn starch in the jar after they've cooled works wonders in keeping them from sticking. It won't interfere with shelf life either. I do this with my raisins as well.

As a tip from another FB post….I enjoy my bananas cut in 1/2, then each 1/2, cut lengthwise into 4 pieces. I also like them a little chewy, nut crunchy. But you can do them either way. Banana Licorice!🍌🍌🍌😊

Omg. I wished you would have done this 5 months ago. The one I bought in January I do not like and going to sell it. I dont believe they put much thought into design and for trays. I feel like I've been ripped off.. thank you for sharing. I will be lQQking into this further. Many Blessings ❤❤❤

I use mine mostly to make beef jerky and banana chips. It is a cheaper dehydrator, but it works pretty well. I have to dehydrate my banana chips for about 12 to 14 hours. I just dehydrate them overnight. PS. At 158 degrees

I picked up a dehydrator from Aldi for $40 a few years ago and it works great! I found a Nesco at the local thrift store for $8 and it worked well however, it did not shut off automatically. That seems like a really nice set up. We are about an hour and a half away from Lehman's. I love looking but, can barely afford the products they offer although I assume they are high quality. I love dehydrating fruit slices to add to my oatmeal as well as foraged mushrooms to add to soups. Dehydrating takes up way less space than canning. I even dehydrated ground sausage recently. My neighbor gave me two of her mother's Conservo Steam Canners in exchange for using our ram. I can't wait for the school year to end so I can try them out. I have never made a RU-vid video before but, maybe I can do a video and send to you.

I'm chiming in on checking out Purposeful Pantry! I got a dehydrator last year, and am still learning. But I've been able to use most of the things I've dehydrated, and now I know what I DON'T really want to dry again!😂 Enjoy!

I bought a dehydrator a year or so ago. I have dehydrated many fruits and a few vegetables My family loves spiced dehydrated apples. Very simple recipe. Toss apples with cinnamon, a bit of nutmeg and a bit of lemon juice. Place on trays and dehydrate until crisp. They are so good. They taste like apple pie filling and are great snacks. Rose Red Homestead on RU-vid) does some wonderful tutorials on dehydrating and freeze drying.

Ive dehydrated alot in the last 2 years since i started, havent tried fruits yet though. I know with the natural sugars its alot different. So im iffy on it 😅😂 i love your pups, im the same with mine, i have to tell him "easy, easy" and he'll take it so gentle. I love it, makes me so proud. Dogs are the best ❤

Place your banana chips in the freezer after dehyratoring, it sets them up and remove the rest of the water and stickiness from them. Yes 36 hours sound about right. Some people put their finished chip in a bag of powdered sugar and shake to remove the stickiness. I have always just freeze them.

Cut the bananas less than 1/4" thick, about 3/16" thick. Awesome babies 🐾🐾

I have a cheap one. I bought it a garage sale five dollars. It works great but it’s nowhere as nice as the one you have. I’ve done apples. I put lemon juice on them and I’ve learned that apples is a cure for heartburn so whenever I have heartburn, I just eat a few of the dehydrated apples since I always have them on hand. It works! Fresh apples work too, but I don’t always have them on hand.

Good luck! I wish I had one to make beef jerky, it's so expensive to buy.

I've made beef jerky three times in the oven and it's doable if your oven has low enough temp and you leave the oven door ajar. I've now ordered a London Sunshine dehydrator so I can make more of it and keep using the oven for other things. Although it's called a Vita5 Nobel Pro 10 Tray in my location (same machine, different branding). Seemed the best option with a lot of tray space. One thing I've noticed is that while it's still a little cheaper to make beef jerky yourself, when you take into account that 4 pounds of beef ends up as under 2 pounds of beef when dried, plus the ingredients for the marinade and power consumption, it's not that much cheaper than store bought. However it will be healthier having less preservatives etc, and if you eat a substantial amount, it does start making more sense in terms of savings.

I dehydrated many things. Try dehydrating a bag of frozen mixed vegetable’s. All the prep is done for you!! I’ve dehydrated diced bell peppers, onions, and potatoes. If you dehydrate white potatoes, they come out better if you slice them, as opposed to cutting them in cubes. Use the slices for scalloped or AuGratin potatoes. Dehydrated cubed potatoes DON’T fully rehydrate. The cubed potatoes look Discusting when rehydrated, and have hard spots that DON’T fully rehydrate. ❤❤❤ blessings to you!

I don’t know if someone has already suggested this but I’ve always stored my dehydrated fruit in paper bags when they are a little sticky to avoid mould. Maybe that will help continue drying your bananas?

I slice my bananas super thin and put a thin coat of oil on my tray after soaking in lemon juice. the thicker they are the longer it takes and they end up chewy. Thanks for the info as always!

The only way I know to get bananas crispy is to freeze dry them. They turn out to be banana chips. But there's to much sugar in bananas to dehydrate them to be crispy. They are great to blend first and make fruit leather out of in the dehydrator, but that's about it. 😁

Watermelon tastes great right after dehydrating, but it takes forever to get them crisp, even when sliced thinly (55 hours in my Nesco), and they get sticky again after awhile.

I wonder why it took so long for the bananas? It isn’t a good advertisement for this dehydrator. Or maybe you had it too cool?
@ajalicea1091
@ajalicea1091 5 месяцев назад
Bananas can take longer to dry. Depending on how thick they are sliced and if you did lemon juice bath. If the humidity is up it will take longer for everything too.
