I think it's really hard to get normal setup today. U will not have classical moves from your opponent. You will get early knight c6 early, bish f5, c pawn push and stuff like that which force you to different openings

This is a great video. You don’t really blitz through the lines in a way that would be sensory overload for a person who is not a grandmaster. I alternate between the London and the Jobava London most of the time, when playing with the white pieces, so this is really very helpful as I see these positions basically, anytime I am playing with white.

Not a pro or anything, but since black is stuck in their position and your white Bishop and Queen are super active, you just shift your attack to the other side

Between the Bishop's opening yesterday and London system today you have posted two openings that Dutch and King's Indian players would love to play as white. F4 and attack down the King side. Fantastic.

I think this video ignores a move that I often see when playing the London. Black very often brings out their light square bishop, usually to f5, or maybe g4.

f5 usually for me what move do you play to counter? i usually go for the bishop trade

@@lvluptezu6053It depends. I think you have to be careful once they play Nc6, so you don't fall for that queenside fried liver. In that case, I'd probably do an a3 or c3. In a Jobava London, I think f3 is principled, because you want to push your kingside pawns. I probably do trade bishops sometimes, which I guess is a mistake, since my pawns are on black squares.

I'm curious about the cramping pawn move, if black were to push the c pawn forward to c4, winning a tempo on the bishop. I'm looking at some of the positions on stockfish, and the computer seems to like this move for black as long as black hasn't castled yet. Doesn't that sort of blunt the whole attack along the b1-h7 diagonal?

- Solidify pawn structure and develop pieces for the London System (0:19). - Retreat the bishop to g3 to maintain the pawn structure if attacked (0:41). - Advance the knight to e5 as a typical strategy in the London System (2:19). - Overprotect your knight with f4 to solidify your position (4:22). - Utilize rook lifts and queen maneuvers to build an attack (11:14). - Seize tactical opportunities, such as exploiting the greek gift sacrifice (14:48). - Be aware of Black's counterplay options and prepare to address them (17:35).

Just play the Jobava London with a more active knight and put the white bishop on E2 instead of D3. They are going to push C4 if you let them and wasting tempo to move a bishop around that is doing nothing but staring at a wall is something I have never understood. A lot of time wasted for most of the video analyzing lines where they waste two moves to trade a bishop for no reason and open your rook... no one does this, if they are really trying to kill your black bishop they will chase it down with knight H5. They will go C5 almost every game (Steinitz counter gambit) and the best line is simply to take the pawn with your pawn and not allow it to push and cause shenanigans when they go Queen B6 which is going to happen in nearly every game nowadays. A3 is pretty mandatory most games to stop Queen side attacks. I dunno I like your videos man but its wild that the most threatening line (pawn C4) you simply say "oh this doesnt matter" and then don't analyze it or show any follow ups after.

My opponent: I'm going to play the London system (plays d4) Me: not so fast (responds with e5, and they're ticket to London is cancelled) Even more fun when they premove their bishop after d4

@@ohyeahohyeah1071 Stockfish gives +1.3 to white if black play 1...e5 so yes Englund is a weak gambit. Also, you don't have to be 2000 Elo to refute Englund. Intermediate/average player can learn to easy refute the dodgy lines in such weak gambit. About the premove I agree, but that's the only advantage I can see playing 1....e5 against d4.
