@@EmbraceTheSuck21 I'm surprised nobody explained the £5 bus pass that you could have used all around London on any bus and as many times as you needed the places that you needed to go guarantee a bus would have taken you there even if it's for just a few stops

This is true. Back in 2001 there was a landslide at Fenny Compton that smothered the rail line and British Rail (or maybe it was still Railtrack?) inundated the stations at Leamington Spa and Banbury with free private taxi services between the two stations. And it's not only England -- I experienced the same treatment with a free replacement bus service in Latvia in 2007.

​@EmbraceTheSuck21 that's fair. The south east is more reserved, the farther from London the less reserved. Most folks are pretty down to earth. The farther from London you get the more normal it is for total strangers to chat. The enthusiasm may seem less, but that's more that, like the sweetness of things here, subtlety rather than volume is appreciated. The folks will be warm hearted even if not grinning on the outside. You've seen a lot of the comedy so you'll be aware that many areas use siblinglike mild teasing as form of affection. Long as you enjoy yourself here, it doesn't matter how you enjoy it

@@EmbraceTheSuck21 I understand Spence , just I’ve been USA 14 times since 1997 and got married there in 2004 , and you are a mixed up bunch, but I’m a scouser from Liverpool so can pretty much fit in anywhere. The more you travel the more you’ll open up. I left home at 15 to join British army so me and Daniel probably get on well , any way maybe next time take me up on my offer and we’ll go for a pint 👍

No one talks to strangers on the Tube. Any Londoner can tell you that. His response was correct, the bloke was probably a pickpocket, nutter or up to something shady.

I thought the same thing but I'm guessing he thought "cancellation" meant for the whole day. The Cardiff to London connection is extremely frequent, with trains leaving every 30 minutes for the most part.

Why did he travel halfway across the country only to make the return journey to do his sightseeing is what baffles me. According to his blog progress, he's still a week and a half from finish the trip

​@@CaptainBollocks.... London is the best place to get a train to his next destination no doubt. Cross country trains from Cardiff are poorer than great western to London then heading out of a London terminus.

@@CaptainBollocks.... I agree that travelling from London to Swansea and back again isn't a great start for tiredness. Also, he's been back in American since the 19th of June. I'm not sure what blog you're reading.
