yet another great video, excellent work on the platform, great to see how you do your work, gives us ideas of what we can do, could you leave it as disused and maybe used as a perway stores location with some bits of plant machinery and stores, cable drums, cable duct ,cable pillars sleepers etc, great work 👍😎

Hi.i think you are doing a great job, I think the idea of a disused station is really good, but remember to put lots of weeds or grass in every crack even on the roof, as in real life nature always finds a way to take back the space. Cheers buddy. Jim from Dartford U.K.

A great vlog Eric, I hope the entrance to the disused station building is well boarded up! at bit (when I say a bit) well covered with greenery/moss/grases & a few low trees/bushes so it looks like it has not been used for 20-30 years.

Super video as always. My thought on the entrance would have been to take it from the road that crosses the tracks and use it with a narrow building to cover the bolt. Looking forward to the next stage and seeing some Underground trains in action.

looking great!, im in the process of deciding how to build my platform for my modern image layout aswell. very helpful and i will probably use your method of the plywood for the curve in the platform as my track is also a mild curve

Great video Eric, quite inspirational! I would say keep it as a disused station, but maybe get some sort of scene going on... Some kids being a nausance? Cop chasing a bad guy? I don't know :D But it looks awesome and is a rarely modelled thing I tthink. Keep it up!

I am always stunned by the chaos that's a Brilliant part of your modelling. Even better I can almost predict "the Plan" after hearing you talk us through now. (it has taken a few years) The relationship you share with your local model shop and the blending of the hinge are great features of your modelling style. Enjoy yourself and thanks for sharing. I would stop there. Disused stations are not a common feature on Model Railways. Might be a good place for a Driver Training or staff-only platform. Can staff cross the lines without a footbridge to extend the theme across the main ?? you could then have the staff training facilities on the other side of the main.

To hold the road in place you cud always go to IKEA and get some spare parts. The smal metal pins that you put IKEA shelfs on in cabinets shud wok good. Just drill a slightly smaller hole in the bottom of the road and bang them jn there and they will stay I'm there for good. And on the baseboard you drill a slightly bigger hole that the pins can drop in to.

Dear Eric, love the vid! Great build. Was indeed wondering how you would approach the scenery on your lift bridge. Think this is an excellent and awesome solution. So cool to see how you’ve camouflaged the hinge. While watching I thought it would be interesting when you would add the entrance bridge and stairs from the road bridge, instead of from the embankment side. That of course would mean the foot bridge should be removable, which would and could allow for the appropriate camouflage of the bolt mechanism. Must add here I also like the solution you chose. In any case I think the little footprint around the bolt could still be camouflaged with a removable part. Possibly even two versions, one for the disused station, one for the station functioning. Very interesting how you did the platform construction. Very curious for your next episodes! Cheerio

Nice work on the lift up section, disused give you more scenic scope.

Eric I use the same camera and wagon setup I suggest raising the back of the camera up so it points slightly downwards to avoid seeing too much above the track and scenery

Great update Eric. Watching your scenic work is inspiring. Couple of questions if I may please….what is the pavement you’ve used on the road & how did you get the asphalt effect - is there a video Ive missed showing how you did it?

Very good modelliing, you've given me an idea how to hide the raised hinges on a similar access board on my own layout... But I have one observation, please don't take it as a criticism... Why didn't you move the hinge to the wide gap between the two lines? It could have been completely hidden then.

Keep it disused. Maybe take the footbridge out but leave the gate by the road? I feel that IRL they would have been worried about trespassing and would have removed it - probably selling it to a heritage line! You could make a feature of the footprint/foundations where it would have sat on the platform…

Great update as always. I like the disused station. Just a thought, would it be possible to create an old lift of station building off of the side road down to the platfom? It could sit over the bolt then. Might make the road section easier to lift away without the stairs too.

Have you checked out John at Picadilly Sidings partially disused station. He has in N guage, but his modelling is really great. You may be able to use something from his layout as a basis for your project. Arthur

Great build, Eric. What will be the name of the disused station? Back when it was a station stop you really had to "Mind The Gap" with its noticeable gap at mid platform. Should the council approve a large housing estate nearby might TfL consider reopening the station? Bill from California.

Are there any plans to add a cheeky decorative 3rd rail in there? I feel like this would be the only time id find it acceptable to model a 3rd rail where there realism as opposed to the American steam 3rd rail BS. I do love a good underground train, especially the 1970s stock and obviously the 30s. Any time I'm down london I always try to hop on to hear that system.

Hi Eric - love your work, but had a quick question. When you were modifying the road, why not use the existing pieces as a template and then modify from there?

My first time commenting on any of your Videos Eric. I think the Station would be better as a Station in use on the Branch Line just not many people use it. You could add about 4 Lights to the Platform 1 Light at The Station Entrance and 1 Light on The Station Walkway giving it that Rundown and Fairly Dark under used look, a couple of Seats upto 4 People and at the back of the Platform a Picket Fence so Passengers can not go down the Embankment. Also a Station Name say as its next to a Bridge call the Station ( Old Bridge Road ) Have 4 Station name Signs 1 at the Entrance and 1 in the Centre of the Platform and 1 Each End of The Platform. You could do it so a Train only Stops there say every 4 Loops around the Layout and not every time a Train Approaches The Station.

Just wondering if your going to put a old waiting room with broken windows and of coarse graffiti. But looking good.
