Hi Al, I’ve just seen this video and I can empathise with your feelings, but just look at all the support you have my friend, not many would have this kind of response. You are truly liked in this wonderful hobby of ours but I do understand that it only takes a few negative comments to ask yourself “is this shit worth it”. I, and many others have gone through this and questioned should I carry on on. And the answer is yes, take a break if you wish or do whatever it takes to make you feel better about it.
Ignore the tossers Al, your railway should look how you want it to look, not how anyone tells you it should look! I really enjoy watching you, great to find modellers on the same wavelength as myself. Keep your head up and don't let the plonkers get to you
Hi Al, my name is John Given from Perth Western Australia. I have been watching your videos for quite a while now. I don't think I have made any comments before but always click on "like" as your informative information and knowledge is greatly appreciated. I have just clicked on "make a comment" and come across Graham Foulston comments. I have commented on Graham's site a few times and entirely agree and concur with everything he had to say. Along with my Australian colleagues at our Perth Model rail club (our section - BR group - which consists of about a dozen or so of UK ex-pats) I want to say "thank you" for what you contribute to our hobby and please continue. The biggest majority of your subscribers love what you do and we all want you to continue. Don't give up, we need more people like you who put a smile on the screen. Kindest Regards Your Lordship !, John, Perth WA.
Nasty, mean spirited, sad people will always try to drag people into the sewer that they inhabit because they are inadequate individuals and jealous of people who are successful . Personally I love your channel your giggles and your content. It would be tragic to let these trolls win and for the rest of us to loose your channel . Please treat them with the contempt they deserve and keep posting your quality videos.
don't let the bar...steds win , just ignore them they are jealous and cowardly bully's ...remember your rail way ,your model, your fun.. 99.9 % are behind you and how you do your own thing Thank you for sharing ..John
Hi Ali welcome back my friend. I know that feeling. It is hard to keep going. Take a break now again. The viewers will always be there. Cheers for now Tony
Hi Al don’t let the trolls get you down. Your videos have created a lot of enjoyment to me and many others. Watching your videos is truly inspirational and have got me through some hard and challenging times with personal life, particularly when I have long days in hospital with my complex needs son. I am currently building a layout for my me and my son who loves watching the trains go by. We love lord Al’s lavy lol. Keep up the good work on the magnificent layout. Chris and James
LORD Al, REMEMBER ONE THING !!!!!!! This is YOUR Channel and YOUR layout and YOU DO WHAT YOU want to do with IT, and NO ONE HAS the RIGHT to tell you ANYTHING except ENJOY YOURSELF !!!!!!
Welcome back Lord Al. You’ve brought a smile back to my face. Keep up the good work. The support you have from the railway enthusiasts around the UK (and beyond) is overwhelming and shows that the trolls are in the minority. Keep smiling and don’t let the idiots grind you down.
Hi Al, I'm very sorry to hear those who wish harm in our hobby and fun stoppers have been getting you down mate. Was starting to wonder where you were these past weeks. 🤔 I have, as have many been going through a similar soul searching as to whether it's all worth the work these days due to the rivet counters. People had a little pop at me about the gaps in my coaches. I bought sets of paper bellows to close the gaps in most cases. Love the new hst coach set. Got a full set myself after buying two sets of the GWR and BR blue and grey to achieve sets. Out of my era but still love running them now and then. Chin up mate, don't let the bar stewards get you down. Atvb Graham 👍 🙂
I know exactly how you feel Al. Closed all mine down before Christmas, But lovely to see you back, I got myself a Alpha meter after seeing yours and Petes. But haven't got a clue if it's right or wrong. But looks good lol. The coaches look superb, 4 car is the Castle set. All round great video. ATB to you.Stuart
DO NOT let them beat you Alan. I’m a Scotsman now living in Western Australia. You give me immense pleasure and joy with your videos not to mention a huge laugh. Love your layout. Stay strong my friend. 🇦🇺🏴👍👍👍
Hi Mate, I am from Sydney and i love watching your videos. It was guys like yourself and the other UK guys who made me change my mind and start collecting British locos and rolling stock. We call the nitpickers here" rivet counters". They have a need to judge anything thats not perfect. My home layout is not perfect, and when i go to rail exhibitions, i see the great work done by some modellers and I know that i try to be as good but I fall short of their levels. I dont care, I love the "HOBBY", thats what it is, its not a job. The videos that guys like you do, are informative and everytime i watch a video, I learn something, see something, and this is what gives me enthusiasm to stay in the hobby. Sometimes when I get low due to railway modellers comments, I think back to my child hood when I had my very first Lima 26 class with the blood and custard coaches and I think how happy i was to run my train around the track on the floor, this brings me back to just having a model train is fun, the rest of the layout and how we set up consists thats a bonus. Keep making videos, from what i see, guys like me love your delivery, its fun, its informative. I look forward to your videos. Regards Ken
The world needs more people like you.... Seeing someone create something out of passion and interest like you have here is inspiring, reassuring and shows a great sense of community, especially when we so often hear you talk kindly and compassionately about others in the modelling community. Please keep going..... Your video introductions always put a smile on my face
Hi Alan, good to see you back! Thanks for the update and I’m sorry to hear you’ve had grief from the trolls. Over the last few weeks I’ve seen many a RU-vidr/Facebook user complaining about them.
