Hello Angela Love the walk. Sandra and I walked through Pimlico on our way back to our hotel at Victoria train station. It was a long lovely walk. Bromley cemetery to Battersea power station to US embassy back to Victoria station. Thanks for the memory. Chris and Sandra of Canada.

I worked for Lloyds Bank Belgrave Road branch, 68 Warwick Square was our address corner of Denbigh Street. We had a sub branch in Dolphin Square 1974- 1987. They were fabulous times we had keys to Warwick Sq garden and could use the swimming pool in Dolphin Sq.

Now that is a good memory! Dolphin Square seems to hold quite a history and how very glam (although possibly cold!) having access to the pool:) All the best, Angela

Well that was a trip down memory lane!!! You even passed the flat that I used to stay in on Cambridge Street (opposite the development of flats that I think were called Russell House?). Gosh the memories! I remember one day when my relatives were at work, I took my two children to Battersea Park, on foot, via Lupus Street, and getting off the bus there once after collecting young nephew from Hill House School in Chelsea lol! The church you passed (St. Gabriel's?) was often where my relatives had to park their (very expensive!) car as there wasn't residents' parking there at the time and very often couldn't park anywhere near their own flat. My relative and I were looking for a parking space in Pimlico last year and it surprised us most of the area was for residents only now. I loved all the information you provided throughout this video and just the whole thing actually. Thank you 😘 xx

Thank you so much Deborah, I'm so glad I could bring back those memories for you:) And how annoying to have a posh place to live and nowhere to park the posh car! It's a fascinating part of London, so close to everywhere but not somewhere I have ever visited. All the best, Angela

Hi Angela Good to see a walk covering an area away from the usual tourist path, lots of interesting historical facts too. I admire your dedication to the job in hand, making yourself late for your lunch appointment, I think on discovering I was late I would have jumped in a cab to Victoria, and aborted the walk!!

Hello Angela. I watched this wonderful video of yours whilst on the stationary bike for 70 mins today. Covered over 106 laps of a 400m "track". No chest pain either, even though I was going at quite a pace. How is your Mum doing btw? Such beautiful London architecture in your video. Incidentally, I've added a new "feature" to my viewing experience. I now immediately add points of interest into my saved Google Maps locations whilst watching. Today for example, I added Bessborough Gardens as well as Pimlico Gardens under my category of London Parks, both with a note of "As seen in Angela's YT Videos". Plus I looked them up on the map to get an idea of where they each are. And my goodness, you actually mentioned me by name at around 49 mins! In relation to the boat tours. (Hmm...was that test to see if I watched the whole video?) I almost fell off the bike! I even rewound the video to confirm it was indeed my name you mentioned. As previously commented, I would highly recommend a Thames boat tour. I used a company that also combines the ticket with a hop on / hop off bus tour and I'm sure you still have all my various notes on that. The private communal garden in your video reminded me very much of a scene in Notting Hill where Hugh Grant climbs up a tree at night to get into such a garden. I was curious to look up where this was but that was Rosemead Garden in the film. I am amazed at your very exentsive narrarated (aka "chatty") knowledge of London in all your videos. How do you glean all this information? Also, your narrations sound so natural with wonderful flow. Totally recognise Victoria Coach Station. I used to catch the National Express coach between London and Canterbury from there many times in the past & it was often the 007 coach. The reason for that coach number was due to links with Ian Fleming, writer of James Bond, who had a home here in Kent. He would often travel between Dover / Canterbury & London on the coach and that's how the 007 number designation started. How interesting to see your journey end at Victoria Train station. That was where I launched my "viewing subscription" of your channel. I am curious to ask: The door marked "Leon" - was that another station entrance previously or does my memory fail me? Hope your lunch date was understanding of the fact you were a little late for them. You made a wonderful video for all of us to enjoy. I haven't forgotten about your previous video and will get around to commenting on that too. No pressure, right? :) Ibrahim in Canterbury

@ChattyWalkswithAngela 2 года назад
Hello there Ibrahim and thank you for your lovely comment, and it was my pleasure to give you a shoutout after all your help and support:) I love that 007 coach story, fantastic. Not sure about Leon, I've only used that entrance for a few years and it has always been there IIRC. I do a lot of research before doing a walk from various sites that specialise in where I am visiting - takes me a day or so - which is why I can't do weekly uploads. Then I condense it all down, put it on a tablet using an notes app, then try to refer as I'm walking but often it's then just down to what I can recall. Hence I often leave stuff out or get stuff wrong! I'm fascinated by that Google Maps feature. I'm trying to learn how to put a walk onto maps to add to my videos, but I'm REALLY slow with technology plus time-poor so I've let that one slide. Your progress with the bike is amazing, i need to give that a try myself. Unfortunately my mother had a very bad fall a week ago and has been in hospital since with multiple breaks in her shoulder. There has been a lot of liaison with the family, the hospital, two (Covid-safe) visits to Bath Royal United and so on, which has taken a lot of time and energy. She should be released home in the next few days with a twice daily care package but she was already so weak this won't be easy. All the best, Angela

@@ChattyWalkswithAngela Angela, first and foremost, I am really so very sorry to hear about your Mum's fall. I can only imagine what she is going through and having to stay in hospital as well as your huge concern for her. It does sound as though she is at least on on the mend and will receive good care but still, I can appreciate this is a lot to go through...and this is on top of all of what she went through for cariovascular tests etc. I truly wish her the best and I will quite literally pray for her and for you every night. Obviously also if she is in Bath, you are a some distance away from her. I will write again in more detail soon. It's just that I am pushed for time right now preparing for a 3 night trip up in Birmingham of all places. Mum and I are going to a big classic car show at the NEC Birmingham. And then on Wednesday a daytrip to London Olympia for the Ideal Home Show. I did go on the stationary bike again today, for 72 mins and 40 kilometres. This time, I felt a very mild chest discomfort at the beginning of my workout, after which it totally disipated for the rest of my workout. This happened before but there again, I've had other 70 min workout with no chest sensation at all. Perhaps it was just an off day for me. I am never even remotely out of breath even at this pace and I'm actually even holding back the pace to be on the safe side. Anyhow, I will continue to monitor the situation and remain on my plant based diet, plus herbs and very light prescription medication. I will write again soon and yes, I haven't forgotten about your previous video to comment on as well. In fact, I want to rewatch it again first before commenting as I recall there was much I wanted to write about. Truly wish you and your Mum all the best and for her speedy recover.

Oh wow Angela, a 1 hr 10 min video no less! I will await till my next bike workout which will be for 70 mins! It's as though you fine tuned the time for my workouts! Hmmm, yes, sorry, it is MUCH longer than planned and has caused me no end of technical problems as a result! But I see that fits your workout well, so an excellent result:) I'm planning some shorter-form content soon so you don't all have to plough through loads of footage (and my laptop can cope with 4K)!
