I preferred this theme but sadly this was around the time that the show started to take a dive.... for me it noticeably started to turn for the worse when Bayleaf - Kevin and Hallam went tout of it all around the same time, then they started bring in posers and actors trying to launch singing careers.
Totally agree, they only killed Hallam off for ratings because they started to dwindle a bit but I think that was the wrong decision, shame what happened to Billy Ray (John Alford) was sacked for drugs, I stopped watching after a while I didn't like the fact they changed Nick from station officer role thought that was shit too.
Carole Webb who replaced Hallam was good, and I think that was the last of the true london's burning plot, it was like a flick of a switch when the replaced Nick from station officer and then killing him later on which blew the full works for me there and then.
@@MrRobovisionthe production definitely saw issues around Series 10 as Skippys actor was fired for wanting more money (which is why if you’re paying attention during the series 9 finale recap 442 goes over the embankment not 441, they had to change it to write him out), and then Alford got set up on his drug charge, we got a story line of Carole not wanting to leave blue watch and then being told she’s not being transferred, only to then actually leave between seasons anyway. Series 11 had the issue of Nicks actor wanting more money so they killed him off, now mind you I don’t think that the series got overall bad until Series 14 but there were a lot of decisions that made no sense to me, namingly Jack got increasingly more and more unlikeable, the fact by Series 9 they seemed to have introduced a rule that any new character would do only 2 series (Sally Fields was the sole exception), and that they decided to kill Sicknote and Joe in the series 12 finale, letting Dan live, but then writing him out anyway. And don’t get me started on series 14
This theme ushered in a interesting Season (not least because my DVD copy has the worst cropping of it’s already 4:3 ratio), we had just seen off 3 characters in 2 episodes, we were on the cusp of losing a 4th long running character, yet this theme grew on me extremely fast, and this is from someone who loves the unique Jazz blues music they had in the early seasons. And I contend despite the common criticism of it gets worse towards the end season 13 was still great and entertaining the nose dive came in Season 14
I remember watching this show when I was little with my dad I use finishing getting for school on a Sunday night my dad putt itv on i use enjoy sitting on my dads knee watching the blue watch gang save people from fires and my favourite firefighter in the show was Geoff poison Pearce because he made me laugh when he used to say chop chop

I loved this theme, shame londons burning went tits up when they changed the theme to this! But that's what happens when you change writers. If they had kept the original writers etc and used this theme, Londons burning would have continued to have been great!
Couldn't agree more. 3 of the main characters went out at morea less the same time and they started bringing posers and spice boys in to replace them. Just like the Simpsons anything after season 10 was 2nd rate.
@@robbielawson4828 you are right there pal, it was day and night as soon as they switched to this theme, which made it unwatchable sadly to me, due to the story lines and new characters been that bad.
@Qasim Hussain Leading Firefighter Malcolm Cross was one of my favourites, he was miles better than his successor Geoff Pearce. DO Scase without a doubt was one of the worst. Clingfilm was funny on a good day. DO Chapman was a good higher ranking firefighter.
@Qasim Hussain Yeah, that is the popular opinion of the show. Series 14 was the very worst. I like The Bill, all sorts of British Public Service dramas (except Casualty and Holby City, those shows bore me). I discovered a drama about the army during lockdown called Soldier Soldier which was quite good.
@@MarineAqua45 It's very Crockett's Theme, which was in vogue in the 90s as it was used for advertising NatWest bank (or was it Midland, my memory fails me)
