"Sailing The Tethys" is the second chapter of our latest EP "Music Of The Spheres"
This EP was composed to be listened in one sitting. However, I know that it's not always easy to go through a 24min song. I've decided to release each chapter separately, so that you can listen easily to your favorite and add them to your playlists !
"Music Of The Spheres" is an ambitious one-track progressive rock EP designed to take the listeners on a musical journey inspired by Dan Simmons' novels "The Hyperion Cantos". This instrumental illustrates Raul Endymion's heroic journey through rich and evocative soundscapes and strong melodies reminiscent of guitar solos played by David Gilmour.
With a songwriting approach halfway between Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Dream Theater - A Change Of Seasons, Rush - 2112, Ayreon and film scores (Hans Zimmer), the band seeks to challenge itself creatively, breaking away from the classical songs structures while maintaining consistency and accessibility for the listener, making this song a brilliant Hyperion soundtrack !
CHAP II -SAILING THE TETHYS - STORY SUMMARY
Raul and Aenea embark on a journey down the River Tethys, an ancient river connecting entire worlds through farcaster portals. They travel from a dense jungle planet to the deserts of Hebron, across the frozen landscapes of Sol Draconi Septem, and through Qom Riyadh.
Throughout their journey, the Pax relentlessly pursue them and they face a fierce battle against a deadly assassin sent by the Technocore, an ancient and malevolent AI that has manipulated humanity for centuries. Despite the dangers, Raul and Aenea press on. They eventually find a brief respite on Old Earth, in Pennsylvania, where Aenea begins to teach Raul and others about the deeper truths of existence.
But the time comes and Aenea sends Raul traveling alone along the Tethys to find their ship, repair it and bring it back to her.
