One of my favorites JT tunes from Mud Slide Slim; remember listening to it in 77 on cassette as I did field biology studies in Kenya! Thanks for this lesson!!!!
I'm so excited that Howard has decided to transcribe and teach JT tunes leveraging his mad skills on what has to be the holy grail of Acoustic guitar. I hope he plans to cover JT's entire catalog as it'a a very deep and rewarding combination of music, unique melodies and unique approaches to blends of synergistic genres. Knowing how perfectly HH transcribes and instructs the Beatles assures that he will totally nail JT and raise the bar to unfolding JT. For me, The Beatles and James Taylor are top of the pyramid of music and Howard will is the perfect musician to immortalize JT's uniqueness as he did for the Beatles
Beautiful JT song, learned and played it in a way I was taught be a local music store instructor I brought it to in the 70s. Looking forward to viewing your breakdown of this gem
Thanks. If you take your time to watch his live in Glasgow ( Old Fruit Market) you will perhaps notice he plays an AaddB ( x02420 ) and an Esus7 ( 02020x) in the chorus part. So to say..
Just found your channel. I love your teaching style. Your playing is very clean and your instructions are spot on. I look forward to diving into your other lessons. BTW, what guitar and strings are you playing? I love the tone.
Thanks so much. It's a Fender Paramount, and the strings are D'addario mediums. It actually sounds better with heavier strings, but I like to do some Blues stuff as well.
Funny nobody’s ever done a lesson on Someone from One Man Dog, his Beatles collaboration with John McGlaughlin. Maybe because his playing is broken up with the background accompaniment
