$10 Watch! GENIUS!! I've had an eye open for a simple clock for my new to me 2008 KLR. Your solution is perfect and so obvious I'm disappointed I didn't think of it myself!.... Although I may allow people to think I did when they notice it.

I’m always amazed at the amount of time some people spend watching videos only to make negative comments about those videos !!😂
@colmi6455
@colmi6455 3 года назад
If you might permit me to have a go at answering that???.... There's two reasons really, firstly, people like that mistake their opinion for fact... they're too dumb to tell the difference... secondly... as we say here in parts of this emerald isle.... they have "scutter all else to do".... I found the explanations and the logic for the mods spot on. You sound like you have a lot of years under you doing this sort of thing, so you obviously know through trial and error what works for you and what doesn't.... I really enjoyed the video..... Feck the begrudgers... ;o)

@@motohead117 Great reference rig for a newbie.. I would give them a great place to start, to see what mods and gear worked best for them... plus they wouldn't need to endure 40 years of trial and error. All done for them... thanks for sharing :o)

I love the "What The Hells a Jarbidge". Been there and done that on my KLR as part of the Northern Nevada BDR. Spent the night. Fun as hell. Great review. Love the KLR650. Its my favorite bike, and I own a very expensive BMW1200GSA. But when I want to ride tough stuff, I take the KLR.

Great vid...been working on outfitting my KLR so this is a big help. What sprockets are you running? I went to the 16 front for highway and I like it but loaded out it lugs in first and you really have to feather the clutch. Thinking about going back to the 15.

They are 1” bar adapters ( 7/8” to 1 1/8”) and 1.5” ROX adjustable risers. I didn’t need to do anything with the cables BUT my TUSK CHUB bars are about 1” narrower than the stock bars and I have them moved as far forward as they can go.

Nice set up! Can you reply with the manufacturer of those tank bags? I didn't quite make out what you said, sounded like pettinhorse which of course does not google well. You gave me several good tips for setting my KLR up. I'm gonna get that no pinch and I like the tire choices as well. I'm a big rider too (6'4", 270lbs) I've got rox risers, JNS lowering pegs, Seat Concepts Tall seat. As far as the suspension, best thing I ever did - Cogent Adventure shock on the rear, Cogent DDC up front. Rides like a Caddy. Thanks again.

I just bought a 2014 "new edition" and really enjoyed watching how you kitted your bike. How did you mount your Tusk boxes to your non-Tusk (can't remember the brand you said) saddlebag rack and how did were you able to have them still be quick release? Mine has a Touratech rack but no boxes and I like the look and especially the price of the Tusks. Thanks, and thanks again for the excellent video. ☺️

Nice bike I'm getting one a klr 2009 in the next week. Already looking into the first upgrades. Probably going with the windshield riser first. I'm getting this for back and forth to work mainly and maybe some weekend riding. Will rising the bars take some wrist pain away as I have had wrist issues in the past ?

Here is one for you KLR owners....How reasonable is it to use a KLR to travel 250+ Miles in a day. Can it handle 75mph for 3 hours without a problem? I travel a lot for work and have thought about getting a KLR to make the trips. I notice a lot of comments about tire gear. Are they prone to flats even on the highway or mainly just off road?

@slimjim7411
@slimjim7411 5 лет назад
No Hard panniers are better for falling they just pose a risk when you're trying to get through gnarly stuff and have your feet down. They can break your leg. The only other real negative is weight but they have a lot of positives. They protect stuff inside you don't want smashed like a laptop, camp stove fuel, etc. They make the bike easier to pick up. They are lockable for when you have to park the bike outside of wal-mart at 1:00am to run in and grab some trail food, a new tent that doesn't leak, etc. I don't use them because frankly they're expensive, and I don't take laptops or expensive electronics, etc with me on the trail. I guess someone might need to steal a leaky tent, and some beenie weenie's but if they do I'd feel more sorry for them than be angry.
