For a foot stool I use a beach ball from the dollar store. Only blow it up partially and it folds flat. Very comfortable 😉

I honestly have the BIGGEST problems with sleep. I can't wear an eyemask because I have texture sensitivity. I can't use a travel pillow because whatever way I use it, my neck aches just as much as if I hadn't used at all so with or without, the aches which is not conducive to sleep. I can't take melatonin or any sleep aids because they make me feel awful and often throw up which I'd rather NOT do on a plane. So yeah, lucky to get 30 mins A thing I find also helps with the dryness, if your skin gets super dehydrated, buy a little empty spray bottle and fill it with water after security to mist on if your skin feels icky. I also find even if you take plugs you should take a power bank because I guess I'm just the unluckiest person ever but even if the airport or my seat has a charging place, I always get the one isn't working! That or at airports when people are all filling up the seats by the charging stations, which is even more annoying when no one is using it and there's plenty of other seats! I'm always too polite to ask someone to move!

As it is such a long way to travel....And chances are it will be the only time I'll ever be able to take such a trip. (before money runs out, really shouldn't be doing now to be honest)...I decided to stay for as long as I dared. I have no travel experience and lack confidence in everything. This is well out side my comfort zone and totally out of character for me to even attempt such a trip...I have barely ordered a taxi!...let alone fly around the world to spend 3 weeks in a country as far removed from my own as to be like another world!...And to do it alone!....I am scared and very anxious, but if I don't do it now..I never will..and I so want to see the band LIVE in their home country..Anyway..I'm waffling...As I say there are foot hammocks..Just take a look on eBay or Amazon..plenty to choose from..Not to expensive...though depends on which you buy...Thank You for the reply.

Or just bring a big shawl, tie a knot in it, and use that. It must be wonderful to be short enough that sticking your legs in one of those things means you're actually stretched out, rather than just bent uncomfortably the same way they are on the floor except suspended in air.

Wonderful thanks for all your suggestions. One additional suggestion I would give is instead of bringing a bag to make the footstool I recently bought folding padded small leg hammock that I has a strap I place over my tray table hinge and its adjustable and it allows your legs to be raised and stretched out in front under the seat ahead of you. Makes sleeping in coach on long haul flights much much easier and more comfortable. Also melatonin tablets or mild sleeping tablet like Tempazepam is a great help with sleeping on long flights.

@@Insidethetravellab Study after study has shown that the fresh water tanks do not get thoroughly cleaned and they contain various levels of E. coli and coliform bacteria. Depending on the state of your health, the bacteria may not bother you. But why bother taking the chance when you have spent a lot of money to go somewhere? If water is poured from a pitcher, it is tap water. Tap water is used for coffee and tea. When you ask for a cup of hot water for cup noodles you brought...tap water. The water is only truly safe when you watch the flight attendant pour it from a labeled bottle of water - Evian, Dasani, etc. If I anticipate wanting to have a hot drink once airborne, I have a travel mug or thermos filled with hot water from one of the airport food stands. I also bring my own instant coffee, tea bags and cocoa packets.

I have a sensitivity to lavender. The idea of being trapped on a plane next to her or even a few seats away when you decide to spray it...thanks for the instant migraine. Yuck.
@Insidethetravellab
@Insidethetravellab Год назад
I hear you as a fellow migraine sufferer - which is how I found out this was helpful for me. I'm not spraying it across the cabin but I totally get that some people are very sensitive to smell (I am one.) But since we can't control hundreds of people, most of whom wear deodorant or perfume, is there a strategy you can find to help yourself through this? Is there a scent you find helpful that you could have on your person to help block out offending sniff?
@wanderlotstravel
@wanderlotstravel Год назад
I used to be sensitive to lavender too...gave me a headache and made me oddly nauseous. Until I found REAL lavender. It's totally different. Most of the "lavender" products sold are made out synthetic lavender or a mixture of something made using a little bit of actual lavender. So what's giving you a headache is lavender-ish-scented toxic chemicals, not the actual lavender itself. Now sometimes actual essential oils can cause a detoxification (toxins being pulled out of the cells they've been stored in), and that can produce a headache, but lavender isn't one of the oils that tend to do that.
@erinthursby4790
@erinthursby4790 Год назад
@@Insidethetravellab The second you are spraying anything even if it is not up into the air, it's a problem for people much further from you than you might think, even if you are trying very hard. A lotion with lavender, even tho it's not going to be great if I am sitting next to a person is better than it being aerosolized. Other people might have deodorants, and they might be wearing perfume, but the second they actually apply perfume or any spray while I am trapped on an airplane with them, of course, I am judging that person as rude and only thinking of themselves and their own comfort. I try to leave the area if I possibly can. But If I cannot, it's coffee grounds or beans and masking. Just a little sachet, kind of a mesh thing, it kind of "clears out" the scent and irritation, then the mask can dampen it a little after. Not much, but the combo keeps me from reacting too badly. And the bonus is, I am not forcing other people to smell something, two seats away.

All perfumes and fragrances should be banned. Scents wreck havoc with my sinuses. The TRTL travel is the best. It properly supports my head, is quite thin and lightweight and helps me to immediately fall asleep. The Travelrest 4 in 1 blanket is wonderful. It has a opening for your head so the blanket covers your shoulders. It also has a large pocket to hold your phone and other items. FBFL Quiet Noise Reduction Earplugs are made of silicone and are washable. To ensure a proper fit with any earplug, Reach your right hand over your head and gently pull up the top of your ear lobe. Insert the left earplug with your left hand. Repeat on the right side.
