Part 2-2 (I cant upload more than 15min videos) Part 1: • Long interview with Ha... Hatari giving interview about the glad incident in Eurovison 2019 Copyright: Ruv.is Fair use.
Hi everybody, so I noticed this has not been uploaded and subtitled on RU-vid so I decided to do it today. I don't think there are any interviews rom Hatari left to translate but I might upload in near future the Icelandic news segments from last Sunday about the Eurovision finals and our impending ban in Eurovision 2020 (will be decided next week) It was bit difficult to translate this, especially Klemens part but I hope you can all understand what they are saying :)
@@ozgul906 Yeah it actually very strange to not see them not in characters, but I have a feeling since Klemens spoke so slowwwly in this interview that he was completely hung over or had bad jet lag.
Titanic Survivor thank you so much for translating the interview Klemens seemed like he is still in character. Maybe in a way it’s his natural character actually. And it just fits his public character as well. Obviously tho he’d be different with people close to him and when there aren’t cameras around him.
Israel is a free, democratic country that respects freedom of the speech. How would it be dangerous to them? They certainly didn't risk any stonning or beheading unlike in some other places in the area.
enecemedicen Well, what they did was not dangerous at all. But people made such a big thing out of it. It you think about it-rhey just hold up a flag. They never insulted or provocated.
Mirror Onthewall, I think the guy in charge of showing what’s on screen knew their plan - there’s no way in my mind that he accidentally made them full screen!
Naj Renchelf all the artists got a full screen when they got their televote points. I guess whoever was running that didn’t get any orders to cut away from Hatari so they just went on like normal
@@mirroroffthewall5932 Not all the artists but exactly half of them. Shown: San Marino, Norway, Iceland, Malta, Russia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Australia, Azerbaijan, Italy, Sweden, North Macedonia, Netherlands Not shown: Spain, Israel, United Kingdom, Belarus, Germany, Estonia, Serbia, Albania, Slovenia, Greece, France, Cyprus, Denmark But of course the camera guy had to know what is going to happen, Einar was already holding one flag and Andrean also had his own prepared to rise up while Matthías was taking flag out of his shoe.
MelomankaPL yeah, I meant to say all artists who were top 10 in the televote. And since the camera guy probably didn’t get any orders not to show them, he just carried on like normal. I guess the production team let their guard down since Hatari didn’t do anything on stage and they thought they would behave.
What Matthías says in the last minute or so is so important. They are aware of their priviledge and they try to use it to point out the injustice. I am just so touched. It's rare for artists to stand by a principle on an issue as sensitive as this. Mad respect for Hatari!! And thank you for translating the interview! 💕
I really hope that these guys go a very long way in their art career and get everything they deserve. The world needs such inspiring people who help others to see outside the box.
Iceland doing it again. Almost 30 years ago was the first nation to accept legitimacy of Lithuanian independence from Soviet Union. After that all the other countries followed Latvia, Estonia and resulted in the fall of USSR. Nice to see them supporting the oppressed and disenfranchised people of the world like they’ve done in the past.
The fact that they show initiative and get involved in political and social issues deserves so much respect, especially nowadays, when it's so easy to ignore problems like these if they don't affect you. Standing up for human rights takes courage and it's a shame that society has created a toxic environment for speaking out about global issues.
Im so thankful for Hatari for coming to Eurovision and giving us the chance to learn about them, their music and their message. From me and my friends from Australia
When they pulled out those banners, I was like "THANK YOU!" I'm a big fan of Eurovision, but in preparation and during the show, it felt like there was this giant elephant in the room. This whole year was just tense. I give them a lot of respect for their bravery, and I hope they become very successful in the future.
They are so so humble i can't even. Not a single word about their own personal success, it's all about human rights and caring for others. I respect them so much.
Well, Hatari, as much as you are tired now from Eurovision and stuff, you became inspiration for many people around the world. Thank you very much for your art and giving us hope. Love your project! Wonderful interview!
These kids are truly something else. They have proved you can be extremely smart, incredibly creative, fantastic musicians & performers while being also super young, committed, involved in the world politics situation, fair, well educated and informed and so much more. The whole of Europe should look up to you. Man, how much I envy the nation of Iceland and its people. From their feminism lead to how they manage economical crisis, we should all learn from them a lot 💕 if they get banned for next year it will suck but they should be proud to get banned for the very right reasons and having such an extraordinary representation as these guys are of what Iceland is, means and stands for. I am visiting soon for sure
Sadly, as much as I approve the "free palestine"-banner controversy they killed all the momentum they had by siding with BDS I'm afraid. There are tons of reasons to have issues with Israel as a nation and political system. Going with a community that openly propagates racism, hatred and partially antisemitism is not acceptable even when fighting for a common point. It's like saying kindergarteners should approve of pedophiles, because you know, both like kids.
When I first heard the Hatari’s song on Eurovision I liked it as a piece of art, as a performance with a meaning. After that I started getting more into their views, the concept of the band and what is behind the image we see on the screens. And I see them as highly intelligent people who want to show the world its problems, who want to support people who need that support. I’m incredibly inspired by them and wish them all the best in their musical and social career! I respect and like you guys a lot! From 🇺🇦 with ❤️
@icky wriggly hairy ugly spider from Natsuki's poem to be honest, I didn't watch it. I found out how great they are after the final ... well ... this is me 😅 Always to late
I'm obsessed with them! Really! All of them seem so nice, humble, simple people who are trying to give a message and are real artists! Love from Belgium
What Hatari did was so brave! I am an outsider to this conflict, but I do understand how serious it is. This is huge! No wonder the news outlets try to sweep under the carpet what Hatari did there. That was a bomb!
I grew up watching news about palestinian civilians being killed and poorly treated by Israeli forces and it kills me to see powerful governments supporting them despite their crimes ! Although I am tunisian, I found the incident deeply moving ! Palestinians are people who have resisted and survived to spread their cause in order to preserve their dream of a homeland, to got recognition of the pain and agony they have been through. What you did is really human Thank you !
I remember watching this years Eurovision and noticing that a lot of the crowd booed at the moment I believe Cyprus gave Greece 12 points and do believe we all know why that happened. In my 27 years and a lot if them spent watching Eurovision I never noticed and felt such a powerful, a good message than this move from Hatari. They used this event in the best way they could. Respect from Croatia 🖤
RESPECT TO HATARI FROM LITHUANIA👍👏!!!You are so brave,so great band!Thank You for your amazing music, keep going forward!! Your idea to fight against Capitalizm is wonderful. Greetings from Lithuania country🙋
@@denasfn Wow,indeed Your parents are Lithuanian?!!??? And You live in Iceland, cool. You should be proud of HATARI😀👍 I hope they will come on Tour to Lithuania, too.
That was incredible, thanks for the subtitles so we can understand. I love Hatari - I'm a cynical middle aged man on RU-vid, so jaded with all the music videos here online but Hatari is such a breath of fresh air and I am totally in love with them and their music! Loads of love from London!!
I think it's not about Israel and Palestine issue but it's about war and peace. And we, as people who are not in a battlefield, must support peace not just for us but for all people. I'm so glad to meet these guys who are trying to make people pay attention to this point thanks to music. Best regards from Turkey.
Thank you for uploading and translating this interview, so glad I've seen it. My utmost respect to them. They have a fan for life here in England. I wish them every success.
I was cheering Hatari all the way for the stand they were taking. I am not anti-Semitic, I have absolutely no problem with Jewish people, either as a race or a religion. I fully support their need for having a homeland. The world owes them that after leaving them to their fate for so long during WWII. However they cannot do this to the Palestinians. When the more dominant race treats the less powerful one as an 'under race', this leads to apartheid. It was seen in Hitler's Germany, in South Africa from1948 to the early 1990s, in the USA until 1968, amongst many other places. This is so wrong. No human being is less than another, simply because of race, colour, religion, nationality, sexuality, gender. We are all humans & deserve to be treated the same, with dignity & understanding. The Israeli-Palestinian situation needs to change. Kudos to Hatari for highlighting this.
Great to see them as themselves for a change, not that I did not enjoy their being in character, but its nice. I respect them and understand why they did this. I personally would not have done it, because I try to think Eurovision is about music and performances and not about politics. Having said that, you know you hit a open nerve when you by just showing a banner you get so many comments and hate. I would love to see them live, and really hope they will do a European tour, I am sure Amsterdam will be happy to welcome them!
Thank you for subtitles! It is very appreciated! I have to say that They are extraordinary. This is crazy that people like me who are not into this kind of music are genuinely intrested and enjoying it.
It's always part of the plan!!!!!!!!!!!! Your presence in eurovision was deep, sorry to tell you that this will stigmatise you probably for ever, it happens with eurovision, it's normal, even abba can't get over this
Really love them, they're brave to show the banner, as an israeli that want to have peace and we and the palestines will be good neighbours some day soon
If you are an Israeli You should have known that there isn't such thing as Palestine and that the Arabs in Israel dont even WANT TO SHARE ISRAEL LANDS with us
The vitriol in Israeli media towards not just Hatari but Iceland as a whole, painting us as antisemites and even less pleasant words, is way worse than anything that you can accuse Hatari of having done.
did they do anything beside acknowledge that Palestine exists, and report what they saw with their own eyes? or was it a specific statement that caused the labelling of an entire country as antisemites?...
Hi. I'm israeli and never heard a bad word about you. I was in the show and the crowd, mostly Israelis really loved their show. They were fantastic. Don't hate someone just by their nationality. Peace and slalom from israel❤
Thank you so much for this! Really interesting to see them out of character and explaining the whole palestine flag situation :) Btw, Icelandic is brutal, even as a fellow nordic from Sweden I can barely understand a word ;)
Dunno if you've checked recently but they are! Their tickets are affordable too. I can't go because they're not playing near me but they're doing Brighton, Manchester and London this year.
*пришёл русский* Кхм - хоть я и не любила такой жанр - но как только увидела эту группу, чото всё изменилось.. Мне очень интересно их продвижение. Особенно нравится Эйран.
How on earth was this at the expense of their safety? They got a slap on the wrist and banned from Eurovision. You're acting like they were targeted men.
I saw it, and still feel like they completely miss the point of leaving politics out of events like these. Especially after clearly being told it wasn't allowed. Love their music, but politically speaking I think they made a trollish act that is sad to see condoned so publicly.
@@Israelpwn If a simple display of a flag is politics then ESC venue is the most political event ever. Look at fans holding handfuls of flags. It's part of the party. Name me one reason why Palestine people should be denied of this.
@@nonsysthematic9064 Because the flags being paraded are related to the contest. Palestine aren't participating and the context clearly shows a bias - there is no reason to wave the Palestinian flag during that moment other than to provoke a reaction. Honestly, this is not rocket science. For comparison: Madonna had a Palestinian flag in her performance as well, but only a dunce could assume there was a political bias in her act (look at it if you haven't seen her act, and compare it to this display). This act is inappropriate in the same way that donning a Kurdistan flag in Turkey would be considered inappropriate. This coming from someone who hopes to see a Kurdistan one day. I honestly don't understand how this is not abundantly clear.
@@Israelpwn Only flags related to the contest allowed at Eurovision?! You know nothing about ESC and its fan culture then. It's meant to bring nations together to enjoy music. Australians used to come there with their flags long before they participated and also fans from other non-participating countries keep coming with their flags and flags of their friends and are welcome. And yes, this is no rocket science indeed. You don't want Palestinian flag in Israel because Israeli (not all of them, but quite a lot of them) have POLITICAL BIAS against Palestinians (right, exactly like Turks and Kurds) and are in no way putting this aside because of a song contest. The cause of their reaction towards the flag was created by pure POLITICAL BIAS and nothing else. If you believe that political biases should be always put first and respected in Eurovision, well, you have a right to have your opinion. I on my part feel much better knowing that at least one participant has shown that being in ESC in Israel doesn't mean sharing political biases of Israeli or putting these biases first - and that participants can also meet Palestinian people and pay a tribute to them and make music with them. If this is not ESC spirit then what is?
@@nonsysthematic9064 I will admit that I don't care much for Eurovision, that is true. I never said that they shouldn't collaborate with Palestinian artists. In fact, I very much enjoyed their video/song with a local artist. However, the way they put up that banner was not an innocent waving of a flag just because, as you seem to believe. You think Hatari weren't aware of the political tension that would cause? Again, Madonna's performance had a Palestinian flag and was (imo) not controversial at all. Context matters, and your arrogant assumption that Israelis should just suck up this humiliation (it's bad enough you can rarely mention the word Israel without being catapulted into an argument about Palestine) shows how detached you are from the political climate.
IMHO Hatari do not need to worry about the Eurovision stigma, they have always been an industrial EBM synth band for me personally (labels suck, I know), in the glorious tradition of Front 242, FLA, Haujobb and their likes, oscillating somewhere between the harshness of Lucifer's Aid and the schlager of And One - distilling a catchy essence from their own unique individual creativity. just keep going :) for people out there who want to discover "new" awesome stuff I for once take the opportunity to present "other stuff". happy spotifying! and people, remember to buy artists' stuff on bandcamp
Today is the international day of Jerusalem القدس, the Saint Capital city that both states share. In memory of this fact, I wanted to say thank you for your support to Palestine and God bless you!
