This video is about the LONG ISLAND COMIC FEST in Hicksville, New York. It took place on April 29th, 2023. The show had multiple booths full of comic books and other collectibles. In this video, I visit booths, talk to dealers, and browse comic books. I look at raw books and slabs.

Avery comic pressing LLC is a pressing and cleaning company not a publisher. (One of the best ) Jeff Vaughn is the president of Gemstone Publishing. (Overstreet comic guild)

Forgot to tell you the VFW building sold, I was curious why all the buildings were vacant along that side of the road. They announced it at the end of the show, and are relocating to a new venue for the next show.

The big building next door used to be a HIP Center. It's been vacant for over a decade, BUT was just sold. Hicksville's demographic has changed dramatically since 1990, and inadvertently, as that shift progressed so did the closing of businesses who's clientele were no longer local to the neighborhood. It is a large reason the VFW is closing. They can only recruit from Hicksville for membership. Hicksville has changed, it's largely comprised of Middle Eastern immigrants now. It is very hard to recruit Vets in a town that has so few. So, it was on borrowed time unfortunately.
