This is quite a good show. A good family friendly(ish) serial. Robert Newton was terrific as LJS. Thanks PizzaFlix for uploading this and the other episodes. Hopefully you find the rest of the series.
That dentist should've been keelhauled after the way he treated his rescuers. What is McCallister? The human ancestor of Scrooge McDuck?! Glad to see Silver managed to get even with the blackguard.
Love the lively theme song for this series. I first thought it sounded like the work of the great Edwin Astley (Danger Man, The Saint, Department S, etc.) but then remembered that LJS was a totally Australian production. The LJS theme music was written by Sydney John Kay, born Kurt Kaiser in Germany, who became an Aussie citizen during WWII and produced a number of other great themes and compositions. Also cool that the chorus was singing "15 Men..." when Long John was about to finally get that daaarrrrrnnnned tooth pulled !
They're 14 or 16 or so of these Long John Silver movies and episodes. I can't watch'em-all enough ! You've heard of walking the plank, but far more common was 'keel hauling', this in essence was a death sentence. It was a terrible way to die. Only very rarely did a person survive it, and even if you did you would soon perish from injury, likely torn to shreds by barnacles underside.
beats the hell out Sponge Bob. Tv was so much better that the crap that kids watch now. There was Robin Hood with Richard Greene. Ivanhoe with Roger Moore in his first tv role Sir Lancelot, I loved those shows as a kid
With all due respect, I absolutely love Long John Silver and everything nautical, how can you not love Spongebob? It’s Nautical in nature and is an awesome show. No reason people can’t enjoy both
What’s wrong with Sponge Bob ? I have tremendous respect for this show and view it as very underrated but why do you have to bash a cultural icon like Sponge Bob . If you watch the first three seasons you’ll see that it pays homage to piratical lore. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ohMzC_1W0ZY.html
Gee, did more than one place ever share its name with another one? Your homework: Plot on a map, accurately, the location of every "Springfield" in the U.S.
