I absolutely enjoy watching your videos, the fact that I am super familiar with using cardboard as a crafting supply but have been reluctant to use it for miniatures you have given me several new and improved ideas, thank you dm Scotty!

I love hearing that I have given crafters new ideas...makes my day.

I'm glad that I could make your day with that. Jeremy from BMC, his videos definitely got me hooked on miniature crafting for dnd between the two of you I've definitely learned a lot in under 3 months. I never would've thought to use the corrugation as a natural hinge.

Love the look of this one. Only thing I may add would be a few big logs down by the fire pit like the players rolled them to it to sit on.

Another awesome built for terrain encounters. I built a couple of set of horses and wagons and will now add some tents to complete how our group would bivouac out in monster country.

"I want to make the sag of the tent" -- such a DM Scotty line; a level 10 detail is so casually mentioned and executed. I imagine the degree of sag can be varied to imply a range from casual camping to military inspection-ready camping. Another thought: these eps are timeless -- no need to include the posting schedule in the video narration. Those time-laden details can be in the text description.

You could make the roof of a little house that way too!!! And then there would be a little guy and his pet wallaby that lived in it, and they have an apple tree nearby and they make cider...and then the Skull Rock Bandits take his cider and hire adventurers to get them back, and when they go in their lair, they find a bunch of hostages from the nearby city and it turns out that they are selling slaves to bad guys and so they hafta go there next...and so on.
@VioletDeliriums
@VioletDeliriums 8 лет назад
Plus...I love how you always go that one little extra step to make the details cool.
@VioletDeliriums
@VioletDeliriums 8 лет назад
Also, you could make a HUGE bonfire and have a bunch of bizarre ritual weirdos around it for the adventurers to deal with!!!

Scotty, thank you so much for these videos. Just watched my first 15 last night, and Oh My GOODNESS!! My group has spent SOOOO much time trying to figure out a way to get more realistic play sessions going, but the alternatives are very expensive. Now following your guidelines for design and paint, we are getting ready to create every map from "Rise of The Runelords" Pathfinder AP! I will definitely link you some videos when we complete a few. THANKS AGAIN! You are my new "Geek Role Model"

or glue a couple together to make a pile to add to the fire!

Great stuff, Scotty. I've never seen that Liquitex paste product before - added it to my list. Small suggestion...consider putting a light grey where the logs and flame meet to simulate some ash. Quick Q: do you ever get warpage on the cardboard when you're using the white elmer's glue material? I'm always worried about that:(

Really cool. I like the tents, I really need to make them. How you did the camp fire I like to. I plan in the future to buy some, ...lots of Dixon Miniatures Longhorns and want to make out of them Mars Attacks Burning Cattle. (Eventually make the fire even removable...). I think your camp fire will be a good to use it for them, too. The Tents I think I will make for Zombicide and later The Walking Dead.

Normally, I just use leomond's tiny hut and a some bedroll for long rests. Maybe a candel, toarch, or lantern for light. ... Unless We are in a town. Then I just rent a hotel room, or stay with a friendly npc.

Last, there was something reflecting off your glasses--a window or a TV screen. Please try to prevent that from showing up on your video--it's very distracting. Thank you very much for making this video and I subscribe! :)

OK, first of all--I LIKE this video! It's simple and you teach your technique very well with excellent results! Very, very good, with lots of possibilities! I'm a wargamer and always looking for items I can use for my hobbies. Thanks for that and for putting up this video. Next, please stop waving your hands around like at the beginning. Don't touch your face, scratch and pull your beard, or anything like that. Keep your hands down on the table if necessary.
