I love all of your videos . i suffer from mental health and depression and anxiety. Your videos cheer me up alot and i have stopped smoking because of your videos and i also love camping. I love nature and i would love to meet people like you who could teach me the basics and useful skills. I think i will spend alot more time outdoors in nature and enjoy life. All the best with your RU-vid channel and off channel and hope to see you one day in the future. Your a great inspiration to me and everyone who loves nature and camping.

Go to “onlinebushcraftcourses.com”. It’s run by Paul Kirtley from Frontier Bushcraft and offers great courses you can access anytime online. I am currently taking his Online Elementary Wilderness Bushcraft Course and couldn’t be more excited about all the skills I’m learning. Check it out. And, no, I’m not in any way associated with them... except that I’m taking their courses!

I've had a rough time with my mental and physical health. Along with anxiety attacks I have OCD and struggle to get out of the house. Thanks to you and your channel I have started to get kit together and plan on getting out when the weather get a bit better. The cold and wet don't agree with my Arthritis etc. Thanks for your videos; I am learning so much and can't wait to try things out.

L.L. Bean has started making the Continental Rucksack much smaller. I purchased one and the side pouches will no longer hold anything close to a Nalgene anymore. Their customer service tried to deny any differences in the pack. I returned mine out of anger and frustration with the fact that the pack is no longer a good option for actual outdoorspeople. There is however a laptop sleeve and electronics pocket, you know, for the outdoors. Buy one with caution. It is in NO WAY like the packs people on RU-vid love. Oh, the price for the smaller pack is still $89.
@aaronchilds4279
@aaronchilds4279 4 года назад
I recently purchased a used canvas version of the Continental Rucksack. I'm unsure of the year of manufacture, but I have noticed that mine also has smaller side pockets than the model featured in this video. (It will fit a standard 32oz nalgene bottle, but will not cinch closed.) However, it will easily fit the 24oz Hiker Bottle by Wildo with room to spare, so my one option is to carry one in each side pocket for 48oz of capacity. Alternatively, it will fit solo cook sets such as the Stanley Adventure quite easily. I am in the process of testing other canteens and bottles to find the best option for me, but I also plan to suspend a hydration reservoir from the inside grommets around the draw cord. There is no inner sleeve, but the Osprey Hydroform reservoir has a stiff backing to provide shape and should work well when properly suspended in the bag. I agree that the pockets should at least be able to accommodate more common water bottles. Mine should serve me well as an extended daypack if properly outfitted, and for the $20 it cost me I can't complain.

Was going to purchase that bag for myself as a beginner and the price was right but based on YT comments and the website reviews, LL Bean redesigned this bag in 2019. The side pockets are smaller, the bag overall is narrower and they omitted the side straps. I'm extremely disappointed in LL Bean.

I have purchased 3 items of the video you posted so thanks for that. Having said that, the Bushcraft Essentials stove does not warrant spending £68.00 in my opinion, over priced massively. It's very small, you are forever feeding it wood. Very small area to cook on. It's much cheaper and with a bigger work area to cook more food if you just purchase some Stainless Steel mesh, set up you fire & rocks for support. It's slim, easy to pack, no need to clean as the fire will kill all the bacteria.

Please allow me to recommend the Bahco Laplander Folding Saw. 7-1/2 -Inch Blade, 7 teeth per inch. I believe Andy use's this saw. I've used it for a year or so, having seen "Simon, a Bloke in the woods" talk about it. There are other saw's obviously, but it could give you a place to start looking. After heavy use, the teeth are still sharp, handle's nicely, and I'm particularly pleased with the blade's strength. Around $21.00, US, on Amazon. I don't know what that is in British pounds, but it is affordable. Be safe. Roger

Hey Andy! Enjoyed the video. I do have a question on your "Bushbox" stove. I use a gasifier twig stove, which I really like, especially in the winter. One draw back, which is quite annoying, is constantly having to keep it fed. They die down rather quickly. I am wondering if the Bushbox goes through wood that fast. I'm sure someone here will comment on using wood-stove pellet's. I will use those on occasion. Once again, I enjoyed the video as always. Also, one of these day's I may learn to convert pounds to us dollars without google. I'm constantly googling for price conversions when you give the cost of something. 😂 Take care. Be safe. Roger
@KentSurvival
@KentSurvival 4 года назад
Hi Roger, Thanks buddy, I have used a wood gas stove as well and found the same thing.. they are almost too efficient haha, also ironically harder to feed. This style definitely last longer with the same amount of fuel and will keep some heat from coals / embers which a wood gas style doesn't seem too as it just burns down to ash.

I was asking the other month about the LL bean how you would go about packing it for more like a two day trip rather than a day pack. When I started learning about the law of attraction, and learning the ability to manifest things. At one point I asked the universe for a bag, I didn't use visualisations, or any special technique, because that doesn't always work, but anyway... You might not like this too much, What I said to the universe was "wouldn't it be nice if I had a backpack that suits me I didn't have to make myself" So, five or six days later I found the waxed/sheepskin strap and leather version turn up in my charity shop, I paid £3.75 for it in brand new condition. Yes, I paid 1.7% of retail price...I also got a new pc showing up that week too but that is besides the point. I love it and have used it every day since but there are advantages to your version, the pockets/cover flap in mine do not hold their shape anywhere near as well as yours, doesn't have the bladder hole but I don't need that anyway. And the straps have become much flimsier and dig in more now than they did when new. It's about two year old on me now. I still wouldn't go anywhere without it though. You will never have to worry about the price of things ever again if you learn the law of attraction and trust it. Though it takes about two years practice before most people get the hang of it. It's not hard, but it's a new way of thinking that takes time to rewrite money based belief systems. Last week I manifested a new hultsfors painters knife, bit weird looking at first, it has a screwdriver tip for opening paint cans, but an hour on the belt grinder and stones and put a normal point on it and sharpened it up from it's very blunt state. It ends up pretty decent if not a slightly soft edge for my liking. I am more used to zdp189 (64rc) and s30v (62rc) blades these days so carbon steel (58-60rc) is a big downgrade, although it carves beautifully. It's easy to forget how well the scandi carves when you don't have a mora lying around.

Recently got a pair of the Solagnac insulated waterproof hunting trousers for £19.99, can't knock em at all, the quality looks like they should be round about £80 mark, superb kit at decathlon.

Great video. Lots of good gear without it being preachy. Those trousers are pretty rugged-looking, while the colour scheme of them is a good match for woodland colours. The LL Bean rucksack is damned fine, it's layout looks like someone looked at the old SAS Bergen and said 'Let's bring it into this century' - I reckon you did right without getting the leather-strap version.... the writing's on the wall with wet climates & over tensioning leather. You'd spend a fair bit of time weatherproofing and cleaning your rucksack if you had the other one👍. Thanks for sharing, always good to see what gear makes it onto the 'frequent flyer' list of those we deem to be role models. 🤠👏👏👏

I bought my 11 year old daughter and myself a couple Klymit compression pillows (ours were refurbished). Very nice pillows with poly-fill & shredded memory foam inner. Really nice pillows.
