Did you replace the batteries in them? It fixed all my problems.

This is a common question I receive, and yes, I tried multiple brands of batteries before throwing several of them in the discard pile.

@@golfwithjames amazon sensors are not genuine garmin inside. They are chinese knock offs. Emailed Garmin to find this out.

Found your video looking for ct10 reviews and couldn't get that bag full of dead ct10s out of my head. I ended up starting with the 3 pack and also found some sensor covers for the ct10s on amazon. The covers are very sturdy and help the sensors from banging around. I haven't had any issues with my sensors yet. *knock on wood* Thought maybe these could help your ct10 sensors stay out of that bag of death!
@golfwithjames

Genuinely hope your experience is better than mine. I've tried different sets of batteries and ended up ultimately not missing the CT10s since I just click on the club on my watch after every shot now. If they die, the Garmin watch still provides a good way to track on its own. Good luck!
@MrBmf1982

Hi just wondering your opinion, do you see any value in using the 3 pack for your putter and wedges, using the watches sensor for the rest of the shots? Thanks
@golfwithjames
@golfwithjames 11 месяцев назад
I don't see the value for putting sensors on wedges that you use for chipping. The sensor will register your 15 yd chips and add it to the average distance for that club. I'd recommend using the sensors for maybe your putter, pitching wedge, and driver. Alternatively instead of driver you can put it on your lowest lofted iron (5iron?) and then you'll be able to see what gapping might be between your irons. Hope that helps!
@PJo336
@PJo336 11 месяцев назад
I think you 100% need to put it on chipping clubs. It almost never misses full swings but misses a ton inside 50 yards. And a drive is easy to add later anyways (you can see the tee boxes on the map)

I have used the CT10 sensors for 3+ years. They have worked flawlessly with no issues. I've only replaced batteries on 2 of them in 3 years. I bought a 3 pack and a year later bought another 3 pack. I use them on my putter, GW, PW, 9, 8, & 7. I highly recommend the CT10's.

I'm not sure if the sensors pair with the phone app, so I can't provide an opinion one way or the other. I will say that if you plan on just having your phone, Arccos might be a better fit for you.

Haha I should have mentioned that I've tried changing batteries (multiple sources as well, from both Amazon and Target) and the sensors just seem to die. I don't shove my clubs aggressively back into my bag either. I still think they're useful when they're alive, but man, tough to stomach these dying so quick.

Just a guess: maybe the jostling of the bag when on the back of a cart, or semi-rough handling of the bag...when placing it in the car. Possibly even being jostled on a hand cart. After six months of rounds, the bag itself is going to get...what's the word? oh yeah, "jostled"... Thanks for the review...(I just put 14 of these on my clubs so I guess I am going to be a careful as I can. Maybe put a towel or cushion in the bottom of the bag.) @@golfwithjames

I'm an electronics repair guy. I don't do a lot of component level repairs. But some. I think a phone repair tech would be a better fit, but if you or anyone has a broken one you'd send to me I can take a look. Never seen inside one, but my first thought is a bad solder or single point of failure based on 1 component. I just got 14 coming tonight from Amazon. If not, I will let you know in 6 months when mine start to break.

Yes, you can switch it to another club. I am assuming you have a compatible watch? You would simply reset the sensor assignment on your watch whenever you decide to switch the sensor to a different club.

What happens if you hit say a punch 7 iron 130 yards against the wind, but you really hit the 7 170; does it count part of the average distances? I’ve always been curious about that
@golfwithjames
@golfwithjames 2 месяца назад
Yes, it counts it as part of the average. It counts shots from your last 10 or 20 rounds only, so it's a rolling average. For players who struggle with striking the ball consistently, the average yardages might not be as helpful because the chunks/topped shots seem to be included in the average yardages. I believe if they happen occasionally then Garmin excludes those anomalies from the calcs.

I don’t have sensors, I select which club I hit on the watch while walking to my next shot. I have selected a club in the my bag section of the app which I don’t use (5 hybrid) and named it chip out / punch. That way it doesn’t affect my average distances for my clubs. Hope this helps

@bastiangeissler658
@bastiangeissler658 6 месяцев назад
Well if you want to know your distances you can spend $50 and go into a really good SIM and get dialed in numbers. I think the real value is in keeping track of courses you played, be able to get back and see where on the course you hit your balls, relive your golf rounds and also get quiet good caddie suggestions. On top of that you can compare your stats vs others in different handicap groups to see where you should work on your game. Those are the reasons why you want these, not to learn your distances. You can do that in 45 minutes in a SIM.
@golfwithjames
@golfwithjames 6 месяцев назад
You can do all this with just a Garmin watch alone. I still track my rounds in the Garmin Golf app. After every swing the watch will prompt you to ask which club you just used. Since the watch already gives me an avenue to track my clubs, the CT10's job is to make it as convenient as possible for me to do so. Since I've encountered plenty of duds even after putting in multiple new batteries, the CT10 fails at the one job it's supposed to do--make swing tracking convenient.
