Over 300 rounds with arccos and I REALLY DO LOVE IT. The best feature is it tells you how far each club is going. I really needed that when I got a new set of irons a month ago. I, also love being able to recall all my shots on my iPad later in the day. I wear the link on my pants pocket instead of my belt. That way the jacket doesn’t get in the way.

I just purchased the Link. Some have said in the past that the clip wasn't as strong as they liked and lost it off of their belt. A lanyard helps solve that I guess. Like you though, I'll most likely wear it on my pocket. I might actually wrap a couple of thin rubber bands around the clip. That way it has some friction in my pocket to it prevent it from slipping out. We'll see....

I'm using the shotscope tracking since 2 years now. I'm pretty happy with it. I like the fact that it uses a watch to collect and store the data, and that the watch doubles as a (basic) golf watch, giving the main distances. It doesn't always track all the shots, but the editing tool is easy to use.

Used Arccos for a few years now. I have improved my game by a couple of strokes per round so far. I am 72 with a low swing speed, so distance off the tee is my biggest issue and chipping and putting are my strengths. I am a bogey golfer. Arccos handicap from senior tees 17.2.

I love a gadget but as you said you don’t need a gadget to tell you where you need to approve , I got arccos a couple of years ago but don’t use it know , along with a lot of other gadgets , have a range finder which is essential , sky caddie that comes in useful, but the one major thing is to know how far you hit the ball with each club ( putter obviously not included ) get yourself on trackman work out your stock yardages use your range finder or other device if you cannot see the pin then factor in weather conditions . Write ✍️ your stock yardages down in your scorecard holder for instant recall . Areas of improvement are obvious and gadgets such as arccos or game golf not essential only to the golf geek that likes every gadget as I was one ..

I have 170 rounds on arccos and I have to say over all it’s been a great experience but it does miss shots and I do sometimes find myself checking the phone to see if it’s worked and adding shots it’s missed during the round which makes me lose focus on the next shot. That being said the caddy is invaluable in windy conditions. And it really makes it glaringly obvious how bad your game is in some areas and good in others. I’m a 15 handicap I’m 2.3 for short game and 23 handicap for driving. I’ll use the data with a coach to get some lessons with a coach in the new year. Great video by the way 👍

Arccos misses the occasional putt and stroke, but I photograph my score card and check the data after the game, rather than looking at the phone much between holes.
@Raven.flight
@Raven.flight 2 года назад
@@kymstock1852 My club has a score card electronically uploaded with the placement results. It's really handy, because this is EXACTLY what was submitted and so I can go back and look at 'hole 3' which I scored a 5 and Arccos says I scored 4... but I forgot about that duff bunker shot, so can add it in later. Quite handy.

Do you happen to know what a 23 handicap for driving means? I'm trying to figure that out in the Arccos dashboard and don't know how that is affecting my game. For example it's telling me that I have a 28-30 driving handicap vs. a 17.5 overall handicap (even though my true handicap is 21). Not sure what this is trying to tell me.
@michaelrambo4886
@michaelrambo4886 Год назад
@@ronburgundy8174its telling you that you are losing strokes with your driver, you play like a 28 handicap off the tee but make up that with your approaches and play around the greens. Try hitting a 3 wood off the tee and see what happens. Or get fitted for a different driver.

As an Arccos user, I think your review was accurate. It isn't perfect, but pretty good at catching most shots. It can pick up another players putt sound if you are standing close by, but usually it misses soft tap ins. My stats tell me that I am poor off the tee in distance. Being 67 ( my selected comparison handicap is 8) I guess age is an issue as I struggle to consistently to carry a ball over 220 yards, and our course does not give much run for most of the year. Accuracy wise I do O.K. off the tee. My miss is more left than right now, as I try to draw the shots for more distance and they do run off the fairway a lot. That is the other issue with Arccos in that it does not measure tee shots in play. You are either on the fairway, or not. We all know that being in the first cut of rough isn't the same penalty as being in the deep rough/ tree area. I would like Arccos to offer analysis of second shots. Did the tee shot position allow the player to hit the selected club at or near his " smart " distance ( the distance he makes 70% of shots with that club)? If it did, that would be a TSIP.

I had ARCOSS from spring 2017 to spring 2021. Plenty of missed shots, had to replace many sensors over 4 years even with storing my clubs with grip down which puts the sensors in sleep mode. Got the link last year and it worked good. Biggest problem was putts not being read. The stats gave me good insight to my shot patterns and where I needed help. It confirmed I needed help with my approach shots but my putting was about a +3 handicap and only 1 three putt every 36 holes. Biggest issue especially with my iPhone In my pocket before the link was being too distracted with making sure the shots were being recorded and marking the pin location. Also didn’t like yhe size of yhe sensors and when installed they add about 1-2 swingweight points which I didn’t like I wound up selling all my sensors and the link on eBay over this summer. Maybe going to try Shot Scope next year. I like the thinner sensors and the ease of wearing a light watch instead of a link or iPhone in pocket. Plus with shot scope I can turn it off the shot tracking if I want and just use for GPS

3 years of arccos and love it although my sensors in some clubs don’t work now, I assumed they were dear due to too much use- just the wedges not working but maybe I need to pair them again?

I really like the Arccos and the desktop dashboard provides even more data which is great! However, do you happen to know what the Driving and Approach Handicap's mean in the dashboard? It tells me my driving handicap is around 28-30 vs a 17.5 "overall" handicap and I don't what that means. A Google search turned up nothing. And my overall handicap is around a 21 so I don't know how they're deriving a 17.5 in those stats....

Coming up short often is expected, it’s often the safest option too Is the strokes gained compared to tour average, scratch golfer or another 3 handicap?

The one thing I’ve taken away is how short I hit. Now, nearly every shot I hit is using the distance to the back of the green. I find my misses are pin high or sometimes long. Initially the scoring didn’t change too much, but as the months went by the scores got better. Always like to give the hole a chance; even from 140m!

I‘m using Arccos as well, and I am generally quite happy with it. The ‚shots gained‘ stats are very useful, as are the distances for each club. I‘m missing the possibility to classify shots as mishits (topped, fat etc), and also to classify shots as half swings, pitches, chips etc. Right now the system collects them all as full shots, but discards them as unusually short when it calculates the club distances. 50m on a pitch shot with 52 wedge is a shot I would like to see and track, but it won’t allow for that.

Totally agree Neil! I've been using Arccos for half a year now with 20 rounds of data. The data made me switch to a xstiff shaft for my driver and getting rid of fairway woods and putting in hybrids. Besides the things to improve on its also nice to relive the round you played and see personal bests. There's a mental part also, seeing scoring holes and a possible dropdown in scoring during a round. For me that appears to happen around hole 13. Great tool!

I've been using ShotScope for a few years, and like Arccos, it's not perfect. But the data has been really helpful. I upgraded my driver this year, and was able to see real world data on the changes that made. Like Neil, it's also been easy to see that it's my short game that needs the improvement. And while that is known, it's the strokes gained value it gives that is really motivating to improve those shots! One big "issue" with the data on club distances is you have to be aware of the carry vs rollout. The GPS only knows where your ball is being hit from, not that it landed 5, 20, or 50 yards back, of if the fairway slopes up or down, is wet & slow or hard & fast. But as long as you're aware (and you probably are if you want to track your data), then it can still be very helpful.

I use shot scope and I've really enjoyed looking at my patterns, I go through phases of missing left or right. Are you including putting from the fridge? Because I average 33 putts per round but that is only putting on the putting green and lose 3.58 shots to a 10HC player on putting.

I'm curious about how it knows how close to the pin you have chipped? Do you need to manually enter the pin positions so it knows how far you are putting our is it all done automatically?

Having data as feedback has got to be a positive as it identifies strengths and weaknesses more clearly than if it were just anecdotal but it does beg the question, is that worth the effort if the potential gap is not met, the weaknesses have been addressed and that handicap is reduced?

Hi Chris great 👍 Video, I recently bought a Garmin S62 Watch (4weeks ago), played 12 rounds,The watch is great 👍 to use, But required too much inputting;- club use etc. I recently bought 3 sensors and fitted them to :- Putter- 56deg Wedge-Driver, This has been a game changer for me 😃,it’s a pleasure to use the watch now, locating accurately ball on the Green when putting, puts in number of putt’s taken also with 56deg Wedge auto imputes club used, Same with Driver (this save’s all the manual imputing) allowing you to concentrate on your golf, also give’s you stat’s (visually) from 50yds and in, And when Driving auto entered at start of holes, Checking out your round at home on iPhone seeing where you hit your shot’s from is a great reminder for of your round 😁 plus the extra stats you golf, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer
