They know where they have good food every time and nice safe shelter. I knew yours would come back. I see hawks are the downside for anyone with the birds. Enjoying the updates!!
I ended up losing the two youngest in a wind storm that kicked up unexpectedly. It was definitely a bummer because I’m sure they would have turned out to be nice pigeons.
Healthy birds love to fly and they range. The longer they do it, the fitter they become or are. I think road tosses are really just to train them that when they have been basketed they have to return to the loft ASAP (find what motivates your flock most and a means to communicate that abstract concept to them). I never kept high flyers / tipplers, but they seem like lol high pigeons lol like they smoked weed. They even eat slow, land slow and fly slow. I can't even imagine pigeons flying high above the loft for ten hours straight. Interesting. Have fun Mike! That's what matters most. And you are right, it sounds like a waste of gas to take them somewhere and release them when they are already taking themselves far away and coming back on their own. A gps band to see how far they range would have been fun to see. Satisfies that curiosity bug.
Yes my friend just having fun is the main thing. These High Flyer pigeons are something else. They take some getting used to but interesting birds. Thanks for your input I appreciate your thoughts
Hello from Pakistan. You got good birds. These Pakistani high flyers especially when young their urge to fly is far greater than food. Always release them early in morning (dawn). Never give them water as soon as they land wait 15-20 minutes to cool down. Use method (kabootar chatri) or similar to home them (RU-vid it). Feed them pearl millet for best results. I also used to feed them peanuts (broken down).
Wow thats like the best moment when the pigeons return, that happens to me couple times like when I’m training they go missing and come back later on,,, it was a good flying day for u,, other than the hawk but all ur birds r safe, that’s the main thing,,, good luck bud,
Hi I am so glad both are back it is so hard when you take care of them and then loose them heartbreaking. But back home we have saying. When you release the birds they are not yours until they return home 😊😊😊 those Pakistananis will be beautiful after the molt. Try to give them a day or two rest before you let them out 😘😘👍👍
@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons you are right about that all the animal's do have their place 🪽🪽🏆 and no problem I appreciate the videos they help me out a lot me being new to the sport
once they are ranging on their own and making it back home, you won’t have to worry about losing them anymore unless they get hit by BOP’s or unexpected hits into electricity wires on the way back home. And yes, younger birds will have a hard time, keeping up with the older flock so either they make it or break it from routing with the older youngs.
