You don't know about the death march the Navajo people endured. That they have survived is a testament to their strength. I fought back tears during the filming. We all need to share this story with the world.

the government should include this history and not hide it and pretend this is a nation of freedom

Itnis a nation nof freedom for the people who founded it. Indigenous people have been screwed in every nation on earth. All of thr americas south america and Canada included. China. Japan had them. Russia had them. If yiu think america is thr only country that warred against the native population you are oblivious to what a nation is or the history of every modern nation on earth.

I had never heard of the Diné Long Walk Death March until now, something not taught in se Utah to us kids and definitely too personal to ask inappropriate questions to Diné people, I thought the long walk was the Trail of Tears of the Cherokee and other eastern tribes trekked into Oklahoma, now I know this sad history along with the treatment of Indians here in my country Mexico, and to this day continues the injustices, that is why we all should remember our ancestors, live their culture, languages and the food they ate. I'm fluent in spanish and english yet I know little of purépecha, but a few words only. On a happier note, Diné are as fast and fleetfooted as the Raramuri of Northern Mexico. Tlaskamati(thanks in náhuatl)for sharing and greetings from Central Mexico.

My heart cries for all the genocides that not only my relatives saw but many cultures have seen throughout history, during the same the time in Ireland the British Government were enforcing labor, integration, and deportation of Irish from the empire. To make matters worse the prediction and mismanagement of the famine lead millions to parish or flee. Our stories will never be forgotten from the indigenous tribes of the American continents; the previous genocides that horrified Europe, Asia, and Africa. To the modern genocides still plaguing the world in multiple countries. May the creator keep us strong, and bring strength to those who need it.

Visited the Ft.Sumner site and the floods washed out all the ruins. There is a prayer site and a museum. The tour guide said the site is originally 25 miles in each direction but the historic site is only a few acres. The Navajo were at the north camp site and Mescarlo Apache had the south camp site. I cried and couldn’t imagine how painful my great great grandparents journey was.

I wouldn't question the majority suffered forced removals. Actually 100% did because where is the former boundaries of Dinetah that stretched all the way to what would be modern Bullhead City? Land theft of former national borders.

There were 4-5 long walks & many events happened such as escaping during all the walks to pueblos to the north & disguised them to look like them & were "passed" by when soldiers looking for them, became part of them, today clan wise people say born of/into various pueblos, term "scouts" came about as even navajo helped rounded up people as they knew where hiding in canyon de chilly & helped soldiers on walks & on return, scouts were afraid of their own people & settled in wants is now Alamo & Raman area, & tohajelee people hid in a canyon & didn't go on long walk, so much happened & after walk excetutive orders added to original reservation to want it is now & became federal trust land

I worked in Jeffersonville Indiana and visited Louis and Clark exhibit, I expected to meet American Indians , the whole are had no American Indians, they thought I was American Indian, everyone asked me to take my picture with them. I am Mexicano. It hurts but, all these people were killed because of hatred, from Hawaii , to Mexicano , we have seen this.. Eugenics was created in United States which adolf hitler justified, killing of Jews, if Americans can do it, I can do it. The world war 11 trials had American euginec scientist that were not conveyed. American history. I remember my history teacher saying, Abe Lincoln freed slaves and I knew there was more. American history.. ❤❤❤❤

I will continue to pray for peace and guidance for all. Above all, I would like to thank my ancestors for having the strength to overcome this horrific tragedy. One day, we will all be together again, but not yet. Love to my Dine people.

The biggest problem in America always has been and always will be, the people in the government. Not the government the constitution is a set of laws that we can agree on, but the people in the government want power and they cannot get power through the constitution Because this land America belongs to the people not the government or the people in the government. It’s been this way for thousands of years in the rest of the world . There are certain people that like to control what everybody else is doing. If you think about it most of the war’s we fought in the world was government trying to overpower government and be in control of all the people. This needs to end soon because the greatest nation in the world is crumbling. I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart that the Navajo Din’e, had to endure this. I honestly know what it’s like to leave your home and put into a strange place that you don’t want to be in you cannot survive like that.
