Most likely yes. Typically you prune when you harvest and it’s usually sept/oct the previous year. January might be a bit late. Also, after pruning, you stop fertilizing until it blooms.
You have an amazingly beautiful yard. Longan will flower at the end tips. So if they are prune too late you are essentially cutting off the flowering tips. They may flush but if the flush hasn't had time to mature before winter they also will not bloom. Pruning has to be time where they are allowed to at least flush once and hardened off before our winter to bloom properly.

Another beautiful tree. I have about an 8 month old Kohala in Phoenix and only about 2ft tall. Would be stoked to have it looking like yours at some point.
My plant is 3 year since birth. Potted but sure it’s through the bottom by now. It’s about 6ft tall a I was thinking of pruning all bottom limbs and bone essential limbs leaving just top. Wanting to keep tree about 10-15 ft and hopefully the same wide. Is that good idea and will it produce in year 4 ?
Not that I’m aware of. My pond is pretty shallow at the moment (1 foot deep). It’s temporary until my kids are older then I’ll dig deeper and might try to shield the longan roots if I see signs of it intruding.

Thank you! I'm still trying to figure that out myself. For me, I have traps for rats which is very successful. For possums - I can't do anything about them (they are big!) but they have only been digging up my veggie bed. The raccoons only eat my fish. The squirrels only eat my jujubes (they have eaten like 80% of it so far). To combat this, I think I have to pick the jujubes before they do. Nothing have eaten my dragon fruits so far which is good thing and the atemoyas.
