Thank you for a great creative cake. I never saw one like this before. May I ask 2 questions: 1) Can I boil sugar together with milk and water at same time? Why did you have to add water later toward the end? I don’t understand what difference it makes? 2) For the longan topping, can I use some of the same agar agar instead of jelly powder? What difference will jelly powder make that agar agar cannot be used to firm the topping up? Thank you so much. 🌹🌹

The receipe is nice! However, the top layer is a little hard. Is there any particular reason to make that layer so hard and can I reduce the agar agar powder for the top layer?
Yea...i tried tis i found the top layer was super hard ..maybe those who trying to make tis recipe can reduce it to 1 tablespoon or so.. the sponge and coconut pudding layer came out pretty gud tho only the top part was a flop
I think Asian people are used to harder jello type desserts, and agar agar sets harder than gelatin. Reducing agar until you get the texture that you like is the only way.
