Interesting that you pin baste before(?) you mount the quilt to the frame. (Or is it pin basted after?) I mat try that as some times my center "shrinks".

I don’t do any pinning or basting before loading, but I pin like crazy once things are loaded to prevent relative motion of the top and back.
