Valkyrie Truck Co. released new truck with dual pivot design, Mk3 DH Slalom Front Truck. I couldn't resist to find out how it is like to pump with dual pivot design front truck.

So, is the Poppy better n faster then the Valks? Have u tested the Exile Hydra 55 degree?

Hello, Switching from the DT Poppy to the Valks Mk3 didn't make me faster or slower. It's hard to say which one is better, but I find the Valks Mk3 more fun to pump. I'm not really chasing speed; as long as I can cruise around at around 10 mph and pump efficiently, I'm content. I haven't tried the Exile Hydra because I was satisfied with the DT Poppy and thought they were similar.

Great video! How is the pumping on this truck compared to pumping in the don't trip Poppy? Do you feel there is less rebound? As there is only one bushing doing the job which is normally for two bushings.

Thanks for your comment. This truck pumps really good. Though, it is hard to say which one is better when compared to Poppy. Here's something I like about this truck. - since it only has bushing on roadside, it is easy to swap bushing. No need to remove king pin. - with combination of bushing seat insert, there's lots of bushing configuration options - It seems to me feeling of the truck changes more dramatically when bushing is changed. - when dialed in, it pumps really nicely. it felt like as if it is floating. Regarding rebound, it provides enough rebound at least for my liking.

Nice to see this truck with the SDF, that’s what I was looking for. How is the clearance? Would this still work with 85 Speedvents?

Hello, I don't have my 85mm Speedvents with me right now so I can't test it with Speedvent. However, it is very close but no bite with 85mm Caguama so I think it would work with 85mm Speedvents also. It is depends on how you set it up/selection of bushing though. To avoid bite, I'm using Reflex 77a that is shortened to 0.5 inch(12mm).

Can the truck be mounted on an SDF without the nylon spacers?

I believe so. Removing nylon spacers would make the ride height higher, though.

when I shoot the short movie I posted recently, I used insta360 gps device and max speed recorded was 23kmh in 150M sprint. I don't know how accurate that was though. I guess I need to find longer flat path and measure again.

I'm interested in this as I've just received the mk3.5 valk slalom. I have mk2 at the back and am on a topmount pumper, genesis! I have 88a bushing up front and 84/88 roadside board side, I'm 86kg and 179cm tall. Are you running a 77a up front? It seems to pump very well, I am struggling to maintain speed a bit. Averaging around 15kph. Do you thibk I should change bushings?
