It is an annual calendar, but not a perpetual calendar

So what's the difference between "annual" and "perpetual"?

@@travis3810 A simple day or day-date display requires adjustment at the end of any month with less than 31 days - so 5 times per year. A triple or complete/full calendar also requires adjustment at the end of any month with less than 31 days. It just has a few more displays. day-date-month for triple and day-date-month-moonphase for the full calendar. An annual calendar requires manual adjustment once per year (annum) - in February. It can automatically skip the 31st in months with 30 days. But it cannot adjust to Februaries 28/29 days. There is also a calendar that can adjust itself automatically for February, but not for leap years. I forgot what it is called though. A perpetual calendar does not need to be adjusted in perpetuity (In actuality it's usually once every 100 or 200 years). It can automatically adjust for Februaries 28 days and additionally also for leap years with 29 days. It needs to be set in every year ending in **00 - except for multiples of 400. A leap year is skipped (almost) every 100 years. If you don't want to adjust your watch in 2100, you can get a Secular Perpetual Calendar. They don't ever require adjustment. In Short: A Day, Day-Date, Triple Calendar or Complete/Full Calendar needs to be manually adjusted 5 times a year. An Annual Calendar needs to be manually adjusted once per year in February. A Perpetual Calendar needs to be manually adjusted once every 100 or 200 years. A Secular Perpetual Calendar never needs to be adjusted.

@@artontime7592 But there are some things I don't like about the watch. The hand of the day does not make sense. It should have had another color (silver). Now it can distract you when you want to see the time. The hands of the hour have no light in the dark. And most importantly, it is only 3 bar. For this price, I want 10 bar as standard, for 100% safety. Even if I don't want to put it in water and sea, and i don't want to swim. Be at least 5 bar. Epic fail by Longines, for me.

Why is that?

In my opinion that is lot of complication for the money. However, to get such complication at $2,950 , one has to cut the cost somewhere

That is one of the silliest things I have read in the commentary. The printed dial is fine and applied markers would have made it look busier than what it already is. Its also a heritage styled watch and that goes with the style.

The blue dial is all applied indices if you prefer. Just choose a different dial.
