The man... The legend... Lonnie Liston Smith is here and playing our swanky Yamaha Pianos keyboard for Nigel on a Saturday morning... just WOW #ListeninColour
yes lots of blue note recordings he was big also played a lot of festival dates heard him on the radio a lot in the 60 70 with roy ayers etc kind of the start of smooth jazz thats a long time ago his music is sampled a lot even now i still get him mixed up with dr lonnie smith very good company
He makes it look so easy. I can listen to Lonnie any time. His music was a large part of my transition from an immature 18 year old to a man. So much respect for this brother.
RVA's finest gentleman of jazz. Your music touched my soul at 13 years of age.. A gift from God your gift of music saved me... I'm 58 now. Thank God and Thank You!. Meeting you and your lovely wife in 2012 was a dream come true!
I grew up as a teenager listening to Lonnie. We were cool like that in the 70s.Sitting in the grass,Foster Grant sunglasses, and flop hats on Chilin, Chillin.....cool like that
That's an arrogant presumption. Why do Christians always do this in public secular places like this? Always trying to pimp out their god. Religious people should learn by now that pious hubris is not a virtue.
@@thundorkat WE CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS AREN'T PUSHING ANYTHING ON OTHERS WE ARE SIMPLY STATING A FACT THAT ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM GOD AND WE KNOW THIS IN OUR HEARTS BECAUSE WE HEAR IT IN ALL GOOD THINGS AN WE ATTEST TO HIM. ITS SAD TO HEAR SOMEONE WHO DONT HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD IN HIM OR HER. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MISSING. 😔
Thank you Lonnie you are brilliant my son admired you so much. May he rest in peace z I played this at his funeral. I know he was welled please. Rest in peace Demetrios BUBBA Washington. 🦋💚
It's a like a soft rain on a warm spring night, two lovers indeed relishing the moment, {engulfed, mesmerized} as they soak up this mood melodic magic! In a trance, captivated stance...Why? Gifted and Uplifted from Sheer Evoking*🎹 Mastery! 😊💚*🙏🏽
One of my favorites from the 70s when I was growing up ✌🏿🎼

I always pity the guys who born in the 2000's and saying that they feel 80s-90s music... but as someone who born in the early 80s (me), I also do think sometimes that I FEEL THIS MUSIC!
@why pity them when they’ve had the opportunity to come across it? Music has no timeline and it’s a blessing when the younger generations appreciate organic music like this.
One of the first musicians I listened to as a young guy! The LP was “Expansions”. His fingerings on the Fender Rhodes have THAT sound!(evident at 1:23!!!) Saw him KILL it at the Hippodrome in Richmond 4 or 5 years ago too!
Managed by pure fluke or fate to be working at glastonbury festival UK (maybe 2009) when he played . I still thank my lucky star i was blessed to see him perform garden of peace live on a sunny afternoon. It Was a day of light in my life that i often think about when i cant find my way in the dark. Peace and love
I watched him place this in concert in London ..I just dont why I cried the entire time..now I do.. it was beautiful as it is now..you are blessed LLSmith💞🎵🎵
Wow, what a world. You love a song.. Then I wanted to learn how to play it on piano so I search the song with the word ‘piano’ then none other than the the man himself Lonnie Smith shows up to perform it. I am blessed.
All about the vibe, exploring the possibilities extending from a few ideas, and saying alot with carefully chosen notes. There's a reason I've been listening to this great player for many many years.
This is so special. I had to stop what I was doing ! ! For just a moment in time I was lost in the most beautiful place. Thank you Lonnie Liston Smith !
