Late 1966-70, every evening we dressed up in our smart trousers, shirt and polished shoes, headed over to the Jolly Fisherman, the Punchbowl foe supper, after we watched the days shark catch come in and be weighed. Oh...how things change...for the better??
i was about 12 when last in looe.mum gave me my daily allowance can't remember how much but spent it all in an arcade within minutes lol..so went down harbour steps and sat there watching 2 conger eels swimming around right to the side of me.couldn't believe it..but such a lovely place will defo go again before my time runs out
last there in 1978, changed a bit with the number of craft moored te seaward side og the bridge. A relative of ours had a house up above the "Jolly Sailor" in west Looe. "Downsview" I think. Had a couple of holidays there in the 60's...enjoyable times.-Thanks for posting.
that sounds like the good ol days...Looe s a bit sad these days..every shop is a bucket and spade shop...the town doesnt offer much for the people and it seemsto getting left behind,compared to other towns...shame really..but the people in charge....dont like change
