Brian of Holcombe takes us around the beautiful coastal village of Polperro revealing its fascinating history, including tales of pirates, smuggling, John Wesley and Jesus?!
My buddies and I went to this charming Port in 2012. The people were very friendly. We were a few ladies of the Ascot Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire in Orange County, California, USA. We had such fun. Folks should visit this wonderful port!
Thanks Estelle, you're right, the people are really lovely, It really is a quintessential Cornish fishing village. And may I say, what an amazing sounding group that is...I bet you lot were causing havoc over here on tour! Best wishes...EF
I just adored Polperro, from the top to the harbour. Steep winding lanes, smugglers houses, white washed buildings and the crying of the seagulls. A picture perfect village, you need to put on your bucket list. Truly stunning.
I was christened in that church! Had a fishermans choir....my ancestors were smugglers from the village. Great video Brian! Loved the tour and never knew about the rounded corners
I'm from Looe just up the coast and was a member of that choir but I'm now living abroad. It's still going as far as I know and many good times were enjoyed....Miss home very much.
I had the pleasure of visiting Polperro last summer whilst driving around Cornwall. It was a glorious sunny day and the village was absolutely stunning . Worth a visit to stroll around and soak up the atmosphere of days gone by. Great video that showcases Polperro.
