90 tracks are numbered from 0 to 89.(1st track is numbered 0 and 90th track is numered 89). In Scan algorithm, the head processes requests and moves till 89 (ie 90th track) then return till 0 (if any requests are there; it will process in this direction also). In Look, the head moves till the last track to be processed and not till 89 (ie 90th track) then changes direction and goes processing requests till the least numbered request to be processed but will not go till 0 (ie 1st track). If any request is there at the extreme end (ie 0 or 89) then only the head moves to there.
