The 48 Laws of Power is the most liberating book I've ever read. That book speaks to the depths of my soul. I didn't see how I was being exploited because of my niceness and constant wanting to avoid conflict. I ran from conflicts like the plague and I ended up giving my power to the world. I was just a massive dork and a fool. I felt powerless, angry, incapable of changing the reality I was in. I was acting rebellious and angry without understanding why. Everyone around me had power over every area of my life, and I felt weak. Your book was enlightening, ever since I read it my life has been a rollercoaster of experiences. I am still escaping hell, but I feel more powerful to handle it and I'm having results in real time, there is a reality where I never read the 48 Laws of Power and in that reality I am dead. I'm glad to have read this book to it's entirety while I'm still young

I have BPD after going through crazy child abuse, having to kill the abuser to survive, and growing up in jail. I've learned that anger really can be a blessing. It's like fire. It can absolutely consume you and ruin your life in an instant, or you can harness it. It can be a super power. Love your work Robert.

I’ve heard many fellow Christians belittle and condemn the 48 Laws, and I get that, considering the different tone of the Bible in living for God. But, for me, the 48 Laws changed my life by breaking down how the worldly power structures work in order for me to live and interact as a Christian in my daily life. It’s the interaction of how you live one way in a world defined by power struggles. It’s been good. Thank you, Robert!

Dear Mr Robert Greene. I am your fan from Thailand. Even though your first book “The 48 Law of power “ in Thai version have never been republished since 2003 , your book is still critically acclaimed. Recently , I found out the my mother ,who is taking control everyone financially and mentally ,is covert narcissist. From very beginning I sacrificed my dream my identity for family business .But in the end, my mother manipulated my soul without shame .It is cold hard truth. I felt so much pain and do not know how to handle it. The degree of the pain can not be measured and somehow affected my brain. I am avoiding her by living on my own and try to deeply study the concept of “the 48 law of power” and your most recent book “the daily laws”. I still hope my life could be better. Love you so much

Bam! Robert, you hit the nail square on the head - channel the anger into something productive. Reminds me of a line in the song, “Mouth of War” by Pantera from 1992: Been constantly so frustrated I've moved mountains with less When I channel my hate to productive I don't find it hard to impress. Thank you Robert for your wisdom and insights, many of which I’m sure Schopenhauer and Nietzsche would be in complete agreement, and keep’em coming.

48 Laws of Power has been life changing. I played College hockey and am now coaching 16Under and 18Under hockey (and HS Varsity/JV. I found my life’s task and dove in and put myself on Death Ground) and I am constantly showing my players these videos to get them to start thinking for themselves and make better decisions. It goes on and off the ice; making good decisions with the puck leads to goals just like how decisions we make everyday life leads to the goals we want to achieve when we are in our field of work. I appreciate all you have done for us and you have literally shifted my entire line of thinking and helped with sobriety. It has helped build my reputation that I had as a player but not as a Coach.

Anger is one of the most motivating emotions there is. It makes us want to get up and take action this very moment. In a world so full of distraction and laziness, there's a lot of power in that. But you have to control it and not be controlled by it, and you have to respect it, because it can burn your entire life to ashes in an instant if you let it. Fire is very powerful too, but if you aren't serious, if you play with it, you'll burn your fingers and lose control of the flame. Such is anger.

Interesting. I certainly DID detect the undercurrents of anger you speak of here in parts of the 48 Laws of Power. I always wondered what that was about. Thank you for shedding light on it. As always, thank you for the excellent advice. As a person I'm filled to the brim with fire and passion. Along with that goes the unfortunate side effect of getting angry, and then not wanting to face it so I push it down deep until it shuts up. I'll face it head on and channel it into something positive that will help other repressed people.

I think the concept of "emotional alchemy" is really interesting. For example, if someone has tons of toxic emotions that they havent really adressed, the idea of energy not being used up but actually converted into a new form. Like anger and angst can be used as a source of fuel potentially to bring about positivity in one's life if redirected.
@anajemba
@anajemba 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for the message, I don't know if my emotion is anger or frustration. But it is triggered dealing with a particular set of people in my office. They control the means of which I express myself and due to their position make a mess of my work. I learnt not to outshine my boss, but that is not the case his daftness ( there is no other word to use) is so excruciating. Picture giving an intelligence brief to one with A VERY LOW IQ person and he not only kills the Spirit of the author by shoving the brief in his locker but laughs over his stupidity (my apologies) absolutely not knowing the richness and importance of such brief. His happiness is subjugating his subordinates and always affirming he is the boss with absolutely zero contribution to the growth of the establishment. Keywords that describes him Mediocre, Selfish, Daft, Shallow.

I personally think anger is a superpower if you use it right. I think using anger is a good emotion to achieve your goals, work out or do other useful things, such as work out (smart way of sublimation by freud), but you have to remember that your anger is not meant to harm anyone, work as a fuel for yourself. You use your anger to change the things that you are not happy with. By reflecting on your emotions, why you feel anger for example, you might figure out things that need to be processed, to find peace within. Not everybody knows how to do this, this is why a therapist might be useful. Good luck to everyone!

I remember a postcard I picked up once when I was 17 on Telegraph Avenue back when “Hate Man” I was having an affair with my English teacher, who was 10 years older than me . It had an image of two lovelorn people looking at each other, each with a little thought bubbles. His said💨 “She’s everything to me…until someone better comes 5:16 Hers said, “He’s everything to me…until someone better comes along.” Some people never change.

What makes me angry? Just like you Robert Greene. I HATE working for others and I HATE stupid social games. So even if I have had a good night's sleep and have a nice walk in the woods in the morning, just walking past certain individuals who are nosey and want to try to "find me out" is enough to piss me off because I see RIGHT through people and their stupid little games. Women (with children) are especially a huge annoyance because I wasn't born yesterday. Regardless if they try to find the next sucker or simply shy away from me, I AM SIMPLY NOT INTERESTED and could care less! I'm just having a walk by myself. So yeah, that's the real source of my anger. People. Stupid fucking people. I know who I am 100% and I keep it all business. Wish others could do the same.

Something similar to what happened to me when I came to these laws, there are some laws that I ended up applying but in my own way, that is, through my own experience I was seeing how to apply them. It is also curious that you don't know if you can become greedy, violent, indifferent, distant, etc. I would advise you, if you are someone with a good heart inside and you will never become what you fear, but if you become what you feared, you realize in the moment, all you have to do is to be a good person. If you realize it at the time, you will still have time to change and not become something you hate. This is the best I can offer you take care of yourself.

Hey Robert Greene. I appreciate the insight given in this video as always, and I especially liked how you explained the utility in channeling ones repressed anger into bettering himself. Im writing this comment because I (and I believe many others) would be really interested in knowing your insights about Andrew Tate, an internet personality who's been on the rise in the past years due to what some people consider to be controversial and others consider to be common sense. Having read your books about power, mastery and war, and recently beginning "The Art Of Seduction", ive noticed from watching Tates podcasts how he seamlessly employs some of the tactics you have written about in your books. Others on youtube have even made content with clips from his podcasts and your laws written underneath, in order to show how he integrates them into his speech. I believe however, that seeing your own take on him would be infinitely more interesting than what some third party has to say about it...what would you think about making a video about him?
