I have been letting go so items that are good, but not great. There is usually some detail I don’t really like , but try to overlook it as it is made of good material, or it looks fine with some tuck and folds. But I am not compromising any more. If it requires more effort than i am willing to, i would let it go. My closest is smaller, but the clothes I have are all work horses.

@@EricaBallStyle yes, I have been a lot more selective buying clothes. It is hardtop find clothes meetings my requirements and take more time. But it is ok as I already have all I need, just to add new things once in a while to fresh things up. It saves me mon6and closet space.

The problem I have is that all of my clothes fit me and are still OK. That's why I can't sort anything out. But there are many pieces that don't fit my current lifestyle, e.g. blazers or trousers. But give everything away? That was so much money and maybe I can use it again? Sorting out is sooo difficult! Then it will always be the standard outfit: Jeans, sweater or shirt, sneakers. Boring! 😐

I'd start by asking yourself what are the words that you would like to define your style. Whatever pieces don't fit into those words and that you haven't worn in over a year, I would sell or donate. It sounds like the alternative is to feel "boring" in your clothes. And no amount of money is worth that to me ❤

The other thing to do is to mix more formal pieces with more casual clothes. For example, trousers with a nice tshirt. Blazer on top of the jeans +T-shirt uniform. It makes outfits more interesting, also gives the formal pieces more opportunity to be worn.
