I Switched from the Dom v3 to the hd3 and don't regret it at all. the extra fov, screen size and 4.3 instead of 16.9 is a lot better for me personally.

I switched from Attitude V4 to HDO and it was a big difference. mainly it gives me more confidence to see more precise way where I'm flying. though the display size looks lot bigger for the HD3, but not sure I need those extra pixels. best video about googles! it's a must see before you buy (or just wanna see the differences) bravo Josh! 👍

HD2 4 LIFE My original foam needed replacing after a year and a half, the strap is nearly done in too, so I got a leather/fabric pad kit from Banggood, after having to cut the nose portion out completely so it would fit my face I can seen the screens a little better because they're now a little closer to my eyes, but it does have a bit of light leak on the bottom that I'll be trying to eliminate.

Great methodology, very informative, love it! Just a small point: I have a EV200D and like what others have mentioned I don't have any light bleeding. However, like what you noticed in your original review, it is very hard with this goggle to "see" all the screen on both eyes.

The Aomway v1 is actually superior. The stabilization technology they used in that model was later banned. It infringed on currently owned patents by the military. The technology is used for military drones to stabilize their shot. It would be detrimental to have a projectile shot into the wrong area due to jittery flight. The v2 uses an upgraded AbiliTrac module which isnt up to par with the other brands. Theyve already seen a 19% drop in their valuation due to their incompetent RND team. Unfortunately, I have no clue what Im talking about.

Same here - still on v1. Nice sharp picture. Unfortunately DVR picture in v1 is a crap. Seems v2 picture is seriously screwed, dunno why.

Nice write-up. Having just come back from a trip where I flew with my brother-in-law and a neighbor of my parents who both have been into FPV for a while, they kept saying "you got to get into goggles". I've been solely LOS since I got into this earlier this year. I do have an LCD screen but I haven't done anything with it yet. I did try flying my brother-in-law's quad with goggles but couldn't get a handle on it. After two failed attempts to even get off the ground and for 30 secs, I just handed everything back to him. It's going to take some practice. I think they both have the HD0s but they each also have an earlier model but I don't know which. I liked the Eachine EV200Ds. I could live with less saturation but that backlight could be annoying. Although I like the wider view of the HD2s. Right now it's a budget thing. We'll see what happens next year.

This is a great comparison video. I love my HDOs when coupled with the Runcam Eagles that I run in all my quads. Any of the goggles featured will give a pilot a great experience.

@@nickbrown3868 I'm torn a little even after this video, I'm not sure it will be ev200d for me, sure I actually like the picture quality in the ev200d(also for the price) , but I kind of like the dominator v3 better, also because I like the feel of fatsharks (haven't tried ev200d irl) and that it's a big name goggle (I fear for the reliability and support of eachine). I don't like the picture on the hd2 and I can't justify the prise of a hdo or hd3 in comparison of what small of a difference they are to Dom v3, in my mind anyway.

Watching vid on 4K 55" HDR Sharp Aquos (pretty good picture quality), and the EV200D actually looks like it has the best color reproduction to me. Not blown out in saturation, but very detailed. Maybe other goggles can be toned down with saturation adjustment though. I have the HD3 and they look pretty good to me IRL.

Great comparison video...my buddy runs the white Skyzone SKY02S V+ paired with the foxeer falkor which I tried today and man the image is nice and sharp but the screens a bit 2 small and the face fitment is a mile off..I use the hd3s which I love can't go wrong with them there not perfect but what goggles are.

Other than the bleeding of the light on the EV200s, I actually prefer its picture more...even compared to the HDO. The HDO colors seem too saturated. Like the green is too green...hard to explain. If the light bleeding issue is not common with these, they may be the winner for me. They are a little lighter in the color, but seem to be crisper to me. Such personal taste I think...P.S. Thanks for this, I did find it quite useful!

Finally someone made a comparison video and not just talk. HD2 looks the best but the ev200d is sharper and the colors are not so blown out. I would go for the HD2 but already got the ev200d.

Be really careful interpreting the colors blown out as the exposure was very hard to get precisely accurate between them.

Nice comparison JB, I have the HD2, very blurry either side for me, but love the FOV/Size, tried a friends HDO’s thought I would hate the decrease in size, but they look the same size if you take the blurry sides out of my HD2, love the HDO, but will wait for the next big improvement🍻

could you make your fields with the wood barrier a bit bigger and make the opening between the tree a bit bigger as well? I've lot of difficulties to fly on your map with liftoff (you may change also a bit the passage in front of your house, bit larger would be better. xD Nice video Joshua! i have the V1... Seen how sharp picture look in latest updated EV200D screens and I'm like that more than HDO picture which does look simply oversaturated. DVR in EV200D is good too. Seems I should give a shot.

muchas gracias por el vídeo Joshua, para los que andamos buscando "las gafas" (el gran problema de este hobby) es de lo mejor que he visto. Por cierto, no sé si lo sabes... imagino que sí, eres Joshua el que todo lo sabe 😆 pero en las gafas eachine, para quitar las letras verdes tienes que dejar pulsado los 2 botones de cambiar de canal 3 segundos, y lo mismo para volver a ponerlas. Ánimo y a surfear el cielo.

Maybe you have a video about it or any comments about it, but cant find it. I just bought a pair of skyzone o2C googles, but I can only see dubbel screens in it. I wear correction lensen (-3) so my sight should be good in close range, my ipd should be around 62-65mm. Do you have any tips what I can try, because I dont have any stores or flybuddies closeby were I can try diffrent modells etc.

Really helpful video. I recently purchased the EV200D and don't have either the light bleed nor dots on the screen. I do have others issues unfortunately like reflections and I'm also not able to focus on the entire image so I wouldn't recommend them. Please add the newish skyszone sky02x. Peace

I'm curious about the methodology you used to record these, e.g. how did you get the focal length right for the camera in the goggles, and how did you get around the rolling shutter and flicker issues normally associated with filming an LCD display? Why I ask is because if you pause the video you can see what appears to be some ghosting of the image, more so in fast moving scenes. I noticed it after thinking the EV200D footage didn't look as smooth as the Fat Shark ones. Could it be that these cheaper goggles have lower LCD refresh rates?

Recorded with a GoPro in 4k 30fps. You can get the GoPro up into the goggle mostly where the eye would be.

Josh I think your flying skills have improved over your tenure here. Totally awesome job! Incredible flying. You mentioned "centering your eyes" in the Fat Sharks or risk fuzzy edges of the screen. I knew this was true, but I've also figured out that not many people's eyes are far enough apart at the narrowest IPD adjustment settings for this to be possible. I just live with it, and the two eye combination make it less noticeable. I've thought that extra space in the face plate foam, moving your eyes further away, while reducing the field of view, would get your pupils at a better point, but I haven't tried it. If I hadn't heard the fuzzy edges mentioned so often, I'd think my eyes were freakishly close together, but in a mirror they look relatively normal (LOL), and tons of people seem to have the same issue. I think Chinese people have eyes (On average) that are further apart than the Caucasian average. Are they being racist with there IPD range?! Come on Fatshark!

In general moving your eyes closer reduces the fuzzy edges I think.

I own a pair of Dom v3s and i absolutely love them. And I'm relatively picky when it comes to these things.. I've had them for about 5,6 months and wish i would've made that jump alot sooner.. Anyone looking into these totally check them out because you won't regret it..

You should show folks HD2s vs Box goggles. I think the FOV advantage of a good old pair of box goggles gets lost.

Larger FOV isn't really an advantage in my opinion. Pixels outside the center vision are wasted resolution.

@@JoshuaBardwell it seems like your pair is the only one with that problem. I have a pair and have been following the rcgroups thread and no one has that problem. The image is much more sharp than the hd3, so your unit must have some problems maybe pre production unit problems.

I have e ev800 goggles and my friend let me try his hd3 goggles. The fov was not that much smaller so if you were wondering if there was a big difference there is not

Please, Josh, test the Eachine EV800D, and some other good box-goggles. I flew ev800 about 6 months, then got myself HD2. After 5 weeks using HD2 I say - EV800 is better at all terms but its brick-on-a-face look :)

I have the falcon FG01’s and I think these goggles would all be better choices... but I don’t see anyone ever compare them to the new options. How are the EV200D’s compared to the falcons? Joshua can you provide any comparison?
