FILM DESCRIPTION:
The romantic ups and downs of accountant Mollie Jensen (Kirstie Alley) are viewed cynically by a most unusual bystander -- her talking newborn, Mikey (Bruce Willis). She becomes pregnant through an affair with a married man, Albert (George Segal), and then counts on the friendship of taxi driver James (John Travolta) once she discovers Albert is a lying cad. Although Mikey likes James, and James cares for both the baby and Mollie, she isn't sure she can settle down with a blue-collar boyfriend.

Watching this movie as a kid was funny but watching it as an adult now I didn’t realize it was inappropriate but this is still my one of my favorite childhood movies. No wonder it was PG-13.

At 1:02, I was surprised Mollie didn't yell at Mikey for standing in the street like that. I'm guessing she didn't yell because he didn't know it was wrong and/or she was too scared to yell at him.

I do remember watching this movie with a babysitter once and I asked her why Mollie didn't yell at Mikey and the babysitter said was because he didn't know it was wrong to stand in a busy street like that. Of course, I'm sure Mollie's heart was pumping with fear too much that she didn't have the energy to feel angry and yell at him. However, Mikey did get his yelling from Mollie on the second film when he tried to secretly get rid of his baby sister Julie by abandoning her in the zoo.

Having to share Mummy and Daddy with another little person isn't easy. Mikey was so used to having his parents to himself that he got jealous when Julie got more attention.

I remember a family with two brothers and when the younger brother was born, the older brother was happy thinking the young baby was coming home to play for a short time and when it was mentioned that the younger brother was staying forever, a sibling revenge started right then and there. However, before Julie was born, Mikey was thinking in his imagination what a great feeling it would be to be an older brother and imagined taking care of her and imagined what he would do if anyone bullied her where in his imagination he said, "I love you so much, I will never let anyone hurt you." Unfortunately, once she was born he must have thought that imagination is one thing while the real thing seeing in person is another thing since he tried abandoning her in the zoo and he did say to himself things like, "just because she's a baby I have to go to bed early." Plus when he was home alone with her, he wasn't allowing her to play with any of his toys. But somehow he must have felt guilty for all the trouble he's caused her since on the last scene of the movie he told her that no matter how annoying she is to him and driving him crazy, he's still responsible to love her as an older brother and said that as kids they have to stick together.
