The best part of this cover is not that you got the notes right, but that you got the GROOVE exactly right -- just like your With a LIttle Help from my Friends video. And on top of that, the sound and mixing is great too. Fuller and crunchier sounding than the original while still being faithful to it, if that is possible.

John's using an LP custom that he bought in 1969 for touring. At some point in time, an airline cracked the neck so he got that guitar turned into a 3/4 scale. He eventually put a Bigsby and painted it kinda like an orange-redish sunburst. That guitar was his #1 during the CCR Trio era, replacing his iconic 325

By ear and any videos available. You can see the drop tuning in music video if you watch both Fogerty's hands. Tom is in standard and John a whole step down, which was common for him. Once I knew that I could start telling the parts from each other. The biggest difference is the Les Paul was quietly played and compressed, the Guild was played loud, turned down, and not much compression. Everything else is pretty straight forward. The dobro was quiet at times, I use anything I can to hear better

@@AblyHouse After trying a lot of different tunings- I have my resonator-Guitar tuned in an open G Tuning . I think it sounds very similar in refer to the nashua s slide guitar
